Nice light-weight mower. I have downsized my lawn and no longer need the extra horse power and range of a gas mower. I also didn't need the checking and changing of the oil and worrying about the flammable gasoline in my garage. And I really didn't need the strain of yanking on the pull starter or the weight of that heavy gasoline engine. This mower has the power to easily cut my lawn, the convenience of one lever height adjustment and mulches into a fine mulch that is easily reabsorbed into the lawn. I can put down the extension cord and be mowing in the time that it used to take to check the oil and refill the gas tank and I'm done mowing in less time than I would have lugged the heavy gas mower to the lawn.

I purchased this lawn mower on August 4, 2016, started it up the following Saturday, was going along mowing my lawn (which is a very small yard) back wheel came off mower, could not get it to stay on. I had registered it the day I received it, so I called Sun Jo who said they would send me a replacement wheel kit. I got a notice from Post Office that money was due on a package so I went to the post office and found out it was the wheel replacement package with $9.80 postage due. I refused to accept it, called Sun Jo a second time, again they sent out another package and again $9.80 postage was due, once more I refused the package as I was not going to pay postage on something I had just purchased and it was under warranty. Once more I called Sun Jo and was told they would send another kit by UPS and they would call me with order # and etc. I received no call from anyone nor
a package from UPS. I tried again to call Sun Jo and could not reach them, got some message asking who I was calling and what number I was calling so I hung up and called Home Depot Customer Service and after two phone calls to them about a week apart, I got an email from Home Depot Customer Service that the package was on itt's way by UPS, and they gave me a tracking number. That was Sept 8th, the package is supposed to be delivered to my home sometime today Sept. 14th. I do not know or understand what the problem was nor why it took so long to get some action going.I am a Senior Citizen and I will not ever purchase an item like this on the internet from any company again. I hope to be able to use the lawn mower at least once before putting it away for the winter months. This has not been a very pleasant experience but I have tried to be very patient and gave them every chance to rectify the problem.

I have used this mower for a few months now on my small yard and it works well. It has a simple design and is easy to use. Its build quality is acceptable. Beware of loosening screw knobs on the handle frame - check them often or replace with lockouts. Be sure to buy an extension cord rated for at least 13 amps. Would not recommend for a yard any larger than you can reach with a 100 foot extension cord.

Cut right threw thick, moist grass and didn't bog down. I had the level high at 2.5 inches, then lowered it to1.5 inches and it worked great. It's really light. The catch bag works nice. I wish I bought this mower a long time ago!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by phand1 Decent at first try, but will it last?
For the first few uses seems pretty decent for the money. Plastic is not high-grade, and balance not good -- too light in the front, so that a nearly full bag is almost tipping it back. The lightness of it all makes it good for anyone a bit older. The test though will be next two years, as many reviewers of electric appliances complain they die in 12-24 months, when we should be getting things more durable. Because of that I'm not giving this better than average marks.

It would be nice if it could cut 3" tall, but it works very well for my Mom's yard, especially in back where there are a lot of tight spots to get into. I'm not crazy about having to push a button before I can grip the start bar, but I guess it's a safety feature. The handle's pretty comfortable too. And I love that it's a nice compact size. I try to ignore the color.
I've only used it a few times so far, so I can't comment about durability.

I've only used it 3 times as yet- the real test will be how many years it lasts. I am a 71 yo female who would rather mow a large yard with several slopes than go to a gym for exercise. Big noisy self propelled polluting gas mowers scare me! The electric/corded Mow Joe is lightweight but sturdy and powerful enough to mow through my overgrown weedy areas as well as thick soysia grass areas. I would have preferred more than a 17 inch cut. The rear grass bag makes it easy to trim pachysandra borders cleanly. Grass bag fills up pretty quickly when mowing overgrown grass but lifts on and off easily and empties easily through the big inlet unlike previous BD mower grass bag that had a zipper opening- yuck! The snap on handle comes off if you carry the full grass catcher so I learned to carry it from the front edge- not a problem. I like the plug being on a short cord because unlike previous BD mower with the plug in the handle, it doesn't constantly come loose! Cord advice: Mow away from the electric outlet if possible. Mow back and forth along the long side of a rectangle keeping the cord off to the mowed area as you go. Make wide turns in the direction that keeps the cord to the side just mowed. If you do this you can mow the whole rectangle without stopping to move the cord out of the way.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by dwz1954 Hurray, no more dealing with gasoline
This electric lawn mower is great for a small lawn. My lawn is about 60' x 20' and that's about as big a lawn as I would attempt with a corded electric mower. The recommended power cord is thick and if the lawn was any bigger, it would be a real drag to manage it. But the upside is that you save quite a bit of $$$'s over a battery model and you don't have to deal with charging batteries or replacing them when the eventually fail. So yes, I would buy this mower again.
I tried out the mulcher option and was quite impressed, the cuttings were chopped into very small pieces and were not noticeable on the lawn.
