Answer:
No, the system is not designed as the primary heating source. In some cases customers have found the floor heat to heat the entire room but a heat loss is required in order to ensure the heating element can produce enough heat at 40 BTU’s per/sqft to heat the room.
Sincerely,
SunTouch

Answer:
This product is a good alternative to baseboard heaters. If the room is large enough to fit this product then it will work well.

Unfortunately, no.
NEVER cut the heating wire. Doing so will cause
dangerous overheating and will void the warranty.
The power lead may be cut shorter if necessary, but
never remove completely from the heating wire

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible product - the thermostat does NOT regulate the temperature of the floor. The thermostat did NOT regulate the floor temperature. June 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product Received the product quickly. Installation was very easy, although purchase of the Loudmouth alarm was necessary. Product is durable and the tilers had no problem working with the product. Electrician had worked with product previously and highly recommends it. Once installed, it heats up quickly, programmable thermostat was easy to se up as well. Absolutely love walking onto warm kitchen floors. Planning on replacing tiles in the bathrooms and using mats to warm those floors as well. One note. Wires can be removed from mesh to wrap around corners and odd angles. One does not need to purchase several mats to accomplish this task, just some creative thinking. December 4, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job A heated floor is a wonderful thing. This mat does heat our marble floor but it takes about two hours for the floor to feel slightly warmer than the unheated areas. Consider using a programmable thermostat so that you can turn it on two hours before you need the floor to be warm. April 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It is a great product. It takes a little work and some skill to install it, but when it is done it was worth it. It works wonderful in keeping the tile floor warm. It makes the whole room feel warmer.I have two more rooms to tile with ceramic and I will be putting this under those floors also. February 24, 2013
