Does this wiring system work with Schluter Ditra mats?

How do I fasten the wiring to the mats? I am using the mat as an uncoupling mechanism between the tile and a concrete slab and also am wondering if this works as a good insulation so that more heat will rise into the tile rather than heat up a concrete slab.....

Answer:
The wiring will wrap around the notches of the Ditra Heat Mat. You can use either double sided tape or hot glue to help secure the wire down. As far as insulation goes, we would recommend contacting Ditra to see what the R-value is. The higher the R-value, the better the insulation.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product leads easily to a great result Along with a warming control, this includes everything you need to warm 70 square feet of floor. Place the positioning straps, lay out the heating wire and route the connecting wiring. Then pour and level the self leveling concrete. A short while later you'll have a surface to underlay tile, wood or vinyl flooring. March 4, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Time intensive You're better off paying more for a heat cable pre-installed on a mat. You will waste hours of time trying to get the cable spacing correct. The metal straps for tacking down the cables create high spots that raise the overall height of your floor, requiring more thin set than would otherwise be required. Spend the money on a mat and save a lot of time. If you buy it anyway, make sure you have a glue gun and lots of glue for keeping the cables spaced properly. November 17, 2013
