Answer:
I would contact the manufacturer. Off-hand my answer would be no. These thermostats are specifically designed to power a heated mat and regulate the temperature. Traditional thermostats just tell a furnace/AC when to kick on. The SunTouch thermostats deliver the power to the mat.

Answer:
For a floor warming application no. Our thermostats utilize a sensor in-bedded in the floor, not a traditional air temperature senor, in order to detect and maintain floor temperature.

Answer:
Our thermostats are a line voltage control. Check with Thermosoft to ensure their elements are line voltage. If replacing an existing control, the existing sensor may need read correctly on the SunStat control.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 20 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Thermostat As I've only had this for about 10 days it is virtually worthless to review. Yes it works, can't vouch for how well it will work 6 months from now. May 10, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Warmth Works fine but wish I had splurged for the programmable unit. Floor takes up to 30 minutes to feel heated difference, and my showers are short. May 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Simple, easy to use I recently installed a SunTouch mat in my bathroom floor. I originally wanted to use a timer switch but soon realized these thermostats are needed to regulate power to the mats. I mounted the thermostat in a deep single gang box. It was just enough room for 6 inches of 12 gauge wire, the sensor wire and mat power wire. Instructions are easy and clear. I do wish they organized the hot/neutral wire set up on the back but I just read closely which was wired to which. Operation is simple, turn the dial to the temp and flip the on switch. The GFCI test is easy to operate as well. The floor takes about 10-20 minutes to get 'warm' and longer to get 'warmer' so in that sense, I wish I got a programmable one. I turn the floor on when I wake up... my wife turns it off later after she showers. One note: I ran a new 20 amp circuit for my heated mat. Before the thermostat I installed a 20 amp GFCI outlet. I did not wire the thermostat as a load off the GFCI outlet as the thermostat is GFCI too and they would both trip each other. I just pigtailed the GFCI onto the load. My mat draws 1.5 amps and my wife's blow dryer just below 15 amps so the circuit is around the recommended 80% max draw. No circuit breaker trips yet. February 12, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by SunStat 120-Volt/240-Volt Non-Programmable Floor Warming Control Seems like every produce has some kind of flaw. The one I received was difficult to install. The screw that holds the sensor wire in was too short to hold it properly. Took about an extra hour to remove the short screw and put an unused one in its place. January 1, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Gets the job done but overpriced The product looks clean, installed easily, and does what it was put in place to do however I believe that it is overpriced for what it is. September 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sunstat Mat The Sunstat heating control (thermostat) appears to be a great product. I would have bought the digital control except for the cost. In this day of electronics it seems strange that a digital device would cost so much. All that said I like the control I got. it was easy to make the connections an performs well. Time will tell however. October 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great! It was really easy to install. You need to buy the thermostat in order to operate it and we also bought the loud mouth for the installation. It lets you know the connections are good while laying the tiles. March 31, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Floor warming control & net. Excellent product I installed under the titles in bathroom don't need heaters anymore works perfect. April 8, 2015
