I bought this product because I was familiar with the name and the price was fair.
Or so I thought. I followed every step to the T and turned it on. I left the small room that I placed it in, and came back 30 mins later to find the air was not humid. I placed my hand over the fan to check the blowing factor and found that only cool air was being distributed, not COOL MIST as advertised. I placed a napkin over it for a few mins even to see if it would become damp (as I have done in the past) and still nothing. I thought maybe I just got a shotty product , so I had my husband exchange it for an exact model and still, the same problem. I am very unhappy. Mostly because the box and packaging, and receipt somehow got thrown out, so I was unable to return it. Im hoping the company checks this product out and somehow makes this right. Maybe if you find one thats been tested & works (any size or model) you can send it my way. Id hate to boycott this company because Im always satisfied with their products with this exception. Please, Do The Right Thing Sunbeam! Thanks for your time.

Bought this last fall for a small bedroom with dry radiator heat. I intended to buy a pricier model but this was the only one in stock at the HD, and that worked out well. The the tank is a more flexible plastic than my last very rigid one, so I am not worried about cracking it. The whole unit has a little give to it which I like - no hard plastic.
I use both of the 2 settings. The low is very quiet; the high is noisier, but it is white noise like a fan so it does not bother my sleep. The mist is cool and a perfect counter to the steam heat in the room.
The instructions suggest daily rinsing and weekly cleaning. I have been cleaning it about every 15-25 days with no problems. However I do often rinse the tank with a little white vinegar & add a teaspoon of white vinegar when I fill it (I don't mind the smell) and that seems to keep it very fresh. If I know I will not use it for more than 24 hours, I make sure to remove the tank, empty the water, and leave the lid off, so the water won't get funky. Replacement filters are about $8-9; I think 1 per season is good.
Pro: Good price/value; easy; tank is easy to carry when full; low maintenace; not too loud; I don't feel like I might break or crack it
Con: high speed has a little noise

Rated 4 out of 5Â by TJdadof3 Awesome Product, excellent price
I bought one last winter to help with the dry air because we kept waking up with sore throats and sinus issues. This didn't take all the sinus issues away but we didn't wake up parched, AND we didn't get shocked from static anymore. Perfect for a medium to small room.
We liked it so much we bought a second one for my sons room and he too says he wakes up feeling better. And he can add water without help it is so easy to use.
The low setting is sufficient to moisten the air and easy to sleep with it on. The high setting is a louder but we never had to use high.
