Being from New England I know the great need for adding some humidity to the dry winter air of a house. When I moved to Las Vegas I couldn't find an adequate humidifier for the year long dry air. Almost impossible to find in stores except for the child vaporizer type. I found this one on HD online and had it shipped to the local store for pickup. I think I made a good choice. It goes on and off without a problem when set to the desirable humidity. Definitely adds a comfortable moisture to the bedroom.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by rebkah 1 month, constant use, no problems, super-easy to clean
VERY easy to clean! All areas of unit entirely accessible. Quiet, puts out generous vapor. Have had it running day and night, at home and at work, for a month, and so far so good. (Be careful if using sprayer to clean out water pan area of base; one of the protrusions is a heat vent for the motor and spray can get into the electronics. This is not a problem if one uses normal caution or just tapes a baggie over it temporarily. Even when I had to open up the base to blot droplets off the internal parts it was a simple, easy to reassemble design anyone should be able to manage.) This unit appears to be good quality. If it's still working a year from now, I'll consider it top of the line.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 2524hen Needs to have a filter!
Used part of last winter. Worked well as far as distributing moisture. Downside: without a filter a white film covered EVERYTHING - glassware in closed cabinets, even got in the controls of electronics -EVERYTHING! This happened within days of initial use. When I realized it was the humidifier causing the problem I quit using it. As far as appearance - very attractive - but I didn't buy it for appearance. I didn't have the sales slip any more, so discarded the item.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by none has longevity problems
This product served me well for one and a half winter seasons (I do not use it in the spring, summer, fall). Then, it started to have issues. The most serious issue was that the neck of the water tank continually "lost" tiny little pieces of plastic from the lip. I would save them and glue them back on with Superglue, and it would work for a few weeks. Then a different little piece would break off. I was always extremely careful not to bump the lip when placing the tank under the spigot to be re-filled, but at one point it even developed a fissure in the side of the tank, which my husband "painted" with a thin coating of Superglue to stop the leak. But during the 3rd winter season (this year, 2014-15), There were so many repairs to the lip that they could not be re-glued anymore. (The cracks in the lip prevent the gasket from sealing, causing all the water in the tank to slowly drip into the "overflow", and then on to the tabletop). Additionally, all the indicator lights which showed the percentage of humidity you were trying to achieve for the room, as well as the fan speed indicator light, just went out. You had a power-on light, and that was it. When I attempted to order a replacement water tank from the manufacturer, I was unable to get one. They suggested I buy an entirely new model - from them, of course! If I can get a new water tank, I will make myself be satisfied without the indicator lights, but as of now, getting a new tank seems impossible as neither the manufacturer nor an additional website have been able to provide one. I will be trying to avoid Sunbeam products in the future, but they are actually part of the "Jarden" corporation, and Jarden seems to own ALL the table-top humidifiers currently on the market, so I guess I will be forced to deal with them anyway.

I bought this about the second week of December 2013 and it worked great for about two months. It fairly quiet and is easy to use and maintain. It sprung a leak where the transducer is in the bottom of the unit. It soaked all of the electronics in the bottom and popped the GFI plug in that it was plugged into. Started leaking in the middle of the night and made quite a mess on the counter where it was sitting. Everything was soaked. I would not trust one these. Use at own risk.

This unit ran fine for about 5 months then it started leaking. Doesn't leak all the time, but you never know when it will which is not good for the floor! No fun stepping in a puddle of water at 3 AM! Also it either ran constantly or never seemed to run like the humidity sensor was not working properly. We did run this unit constantly because we both suffer nose bleeds and needed something to help. Going to look for something different. It seems extremely difficult to find a good humidifier!

This is a great humidifier, but the problem is that it is pressurized. If you were to put a hole in it it will drain all the water to the floor causing a flood making it a unreliable product (I'm just glad I caught this in time to prevent any major disaster). I wouldn't put this any were near computers or other electronics as this could be dangerous for you and the electronics.

The Rolls Royce of humidifiers! We loved ours so much we bought 1 for my mom as a gift. She hasn't had a sinus headache since she started using it. Easy to clean. No hard to reach spots. Humidity monitor is excellent feature I didn't know how useful it would be until we started using it. Wow, now it's easy to get just the right humidity level. I filled the over flow tube with epoxy. Now, no spills ever. My son has allergies, this has been a big help.
