Easy to set up but broke after 2 months. All plastic is not the way to go with this design.

Purchased last summer, kept out of the weather during winter months. Hooked it back up this spring and after two uses lever broke!! Realize it's made of resin, but at $99.00, it should have lasted longer!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JustinTyme Great concept - very poor execution. Beware!
The really sad part about this product is that it could be a great product. If Front Gate sold this, it would cost three to five times a much; but then it would work every time.
I am in my second season of use. Putting the box together is relatively easy, EXCEPT it is supposed to be secured to the floor or ground. Very difficult in constricted spaced or may be any space. Never could figure out how to assemble, then put the rods into the ground. If you don't secure it to the ground, it will move while reeling in the hose.
BTW, the product would be improved by making the reel / unreel lever different colors.
So while the engineering is clever - reeling based upon water pressure - I would not buy another.

This rewinder looks good but the hose is very hard to pull out. Once you accomplish that task rewinding works very well. This is not my first rewinder.

It was easy to get put together and easy to make it work. I plan to add a longer discharge hose so I can water more plants with the water coming from the auto rewind feature. My only regret is that after ordering this Suncast aquawinder from Home Depot, I found similar Suncast auto winder products for $20-$25 less.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by SUnderwood23 Nice idea but terrible follow through
Don't buy this thing. It looks nice but does not work. From day one it has leaked terribly and only was able to roll up the house one or two times total. Since then I've had to roll it by hand which is hard because their's no manual handle. Not worth the $100 I spent on it.

We purchased other hose reels before so we were not too sure about this one except for its self winding ability. We were willing to give it a try and it performs just as described. We have a 75 foot hose on it and it handles it without having to use electricity or other power other than water.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by GardenerGuy Terrible Quality - Avoid At All Costs
I have owned 5 of these automatic hose reels, but will never again buy anything from SunCast. People have been complaining about these for several years, yet they never improve them with sturdier components. DO NOT BUY!
The failure scenario is the same each time: Babying the last two reels I purchased, after 5-10 operations the gears that move the hose guide back and forth start to push past each other and then eventually break off. The hose then frequently gets tangled up inside as it slips off the reel. The hose guide itself also tends to pop off the tracks. All of this is with a light-duty host that is not kinked, does not hitch on things during winding, etc. Finally, the handle that you must operate to engage and disengage the winding breaks off. It's ridiculously cheap plastic, bending back and forth from Day 1.
Home Depot should take a stand and refuse to sell garbage like this.
