Yes, your cart should have come with another shorter hose that connects to the main faucet and also to your long hose. You should take it back and get one with the missing hose. I don't know that you would be able to use the reel without that piece.

Yes - I got a 3' hose with mine that connects the faucet to the reel. Your hose then connects to a plastic spigot on the "axle" of the reel, where it winds up (and covers the spigot) as you reel your hose. If you didn't get the short, 3' extension, you're definitely missing a part.

Although Suncast does not encourage this procedure, most of the snap-in cranks can be moved from one side to the other, including the crank on the Suncast hose cart model CPLJNF17524.
To switch sides, the cross braces need to be removed before the existing crank and in/out tube systems can be swapped. If the reels are left and right specific, then these will also have to switch from one side to the other. Slots are often molded into both sides of the frames to accommodate the in-tube. If not, holes need to be drilled to accommodate the two tabs on the supply tube. A claw head hammer used as a pry at the outside will remove the crank, though it can be very difficult to do so.
Once reversed, the outlet tube will face backward and the crank will have to operate in the counter-clockwise direction. You must also remember to run the garden hose under the reel when you attach it.
Thank you for your question and your interest in Suncast products.

Hopefully you still have that original packaging because the instructions are printed there for how to take apart the housing to reach the gasket, but if you do not.....do not despair, that are move carts at HD and you can read the instructions from one of these.
The replacement gasket should be found in the Garden Dept at Home Depot.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Broke after 2 months Very poor quality. Placed the hose reel in my back yard with 50 feet of hose on it and had the hose hooked up to a stationary sprinkler in my yard. I don't think I turned the handle more then two times since purchasing it. All I ever did was turn it on and off from the spigot regularly to water a small garden.
