Answer:
No. The company did away with the parts replacement that you typically will need to order. However the good news is that it appears the interior reel seems to now be more substantial than my previous purchases. I'm hopeful that these reels will last even longer than the last ones.

Although Suncast does not encourage this procedure, Jamie, most of the snap-in cranks can be moved from one side to the other, but NOT the SmartTrak or HCT200 hose reels.
To switch sides, the cross braces will be removed and existing crank and in/out tube systems swapped. It the reels are left and right specific, then these will also have to switch from one side to the other. Slots are often molded into both sides of the frames to accommodate the in-tube. If not, you will need to drill holes to accommodate the two tabs on the supply tube. Removal of the crank can be very difficult, but you can use a clawhead hammer as a pry from the outside. You may want to email Suncast directly at contactcenter@suncast.com and ask for directions on removal of parts. Once reversed, the outlet tube will face backward and the crank will have to operate in the counter-clockwise direction. You must also remember to run the garden hose under the reel when you attach it.
All in all, it is a difficult and time-consuming project that we would definitely advise against, Jamie.

It has a small thing to hold the hose inside the box to slide/move in/along a horizontal pole to facilitate roll back the hose at relatively even thickness of the hose layers inside the box. And I got it at the lowest price of its kind.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from NOT AS GOOD AS MY OLD SUNCAST HOSE REEL My goodness!! Ive been researching hose reel's for months ~both in the stores and on line at homedepot.com and after reading everything on line about all of the different hose reel boxes and looking at them in several different department stores, I ended up ordering a 225 foot Suncast hose reel box because I was attempting to get exactly what I bought at home depot 12 years ago!! So let's go backwards 12 years when I first bought my new house I went to Home Depot and purchased (2) Suncast hose reel boxes and they have been over the top excellent!! Oh how I only wished that they still made them the same as 12 year's ago!! As the old saying goes, "they don't make things like they use to"!! And this is the case with this hose reel box. It's hard to reel in, you have to keeping opening up the lid and moving the hose over to thread it on, other wise it all humps up just on one side!! My old Suncast reel slid back and forth really nicely but this one does not, and the handle is not rugged at all like my old one, it's smooth and slick and if your hands are wet you cannot hold it for the life of you! So I gave it a fair and really wished I had not bought it. I just cannot find my old style anywhere so they obviously quit making it. Think twice before you buy this one!! Im going to submit photo's of the old suncast hose reel box that's 12 years old and the new box that I just purchased on line.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A waste of money Read all of the reviews, unfortunately not until I had gone through two of them in as many years. Hose connection to side of box blows off when water is turned on. Once off, it will not go back on due to the fact that it is poorly made. Since I do not have my receipts I guess I will be eating the cost but I will definitely get in touch with Suncast to let them know of these issues and I hope everyone else that has had the same problems will do the same.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from does the job, but with effort I've had one of these for about 6 years. As far as durability I cannot complain, it still works, but their are downsides. I'm 6'1" 225 lbs & pretty muscular. When I have my 100ft of commercial grade hose all the way out, it takes quite a bit of effort to wind it back in. I personally don't mind it, but my 5'5" 115lb girlfriend can't do it. It also difficult to keep the lid up, use the sliding guide to keep the hose even, & crank the handle all at the same time. It's built well & does what it's supposed to. Bottom Line: If your good size guy & don't mind a little extra shoulder workout, then this is a economical solution that will lat your for years, but if you have lower back issues, or are elderly, you may want to explore an auto-winding wheel of some sort.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Suncast Hose Reel Don't buy this hose reel if you ever intend to shut off the hose nozzle while the water is turned on. The pressure will blow the leader hose connection off the side of the enclosure. I had the same model for twelve years and it worked fine. However, Suncast has now replaced the leader hose connection piece with one that is made a lot cheaper, which creates this problem. It's going back to Home Depot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For 100' buy the 225' model. If you need a hose reel for 100' hose, buy the 225' model and not the 100' model. The 225 has weight whereas the 100 is flimsy and tips over constantly. Basically divide the claimed length by 2 to get the size you want. Too bad they don't sell this in the store anymore.
