My plan was to take some Alex 25 or 30 year caulk and bead around the bottom. This looks like it will work pretty well...make sure you tarp under or use newspaper and put heavy objects on the floor inside and on the outer walls to hold the warped pieces in place where they should be.
This should keep almost all dirt, moisture and other biology out...from the bottom at least. Read Less

The bottom of the box doesn't sit on the ground so you don't have to worry about average puddles getting water into the box from the bottom either.

Yes, basically, it is waterproof. The lid does not lock down and seal but it does sit on the side walls and keeps water out. If water were to rise around the box, however, as in a flooding situation, it would leak inside as the seams all snap together--no weatherstripping or seals.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by I should have bought in store and not online Item is not sturdy enough and doesn't close tight enough. Bottom of container not secure enough. July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Outdoor Storage; but not waterproof under strong thunderstorm. This was purchased to store all the cushions and protector for the patio furniture. The design appeared to be made so that water will not leak into the interior of the box. However, it was placed on the patio and there was a thunderstorm, relative strong (since one of the neighbor's tree was down). The next morning when the cover was opened, the cushions were wet. It appeared the wind pick up the cover and it opened and closed during the storm. A simple solution that suggested to do, if you have a drill and a lock, you can drill a hole through the edge of the cover and lock it up. It may minimize the wind uplift the lid. Also, the storage is not designed to hold a lot of weight or letting the heavy object sitting on it. July 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Simple and durable Really like the product. Seems like it will serve its purpose. July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Affordable deck storage It took only minutes to assemble and a couple of pillows to make it seating. This box serves as a deck storage area for my gardening hand tools and charcoal for the grill. (I do have to have the coals in an airtight container in the box). Over winter I'll most likely use it for deck pillow storage. I'd recommend it to anyone. July 5, 2016
