My plan was to take some Alex 25 or 30 year caulk and bead around the bottom. This looks like it will work pretty well...make sure you tarp under or use newspaper and put heavy objects on the floor inside and on the outer walls to hold the warped pieces in place where they should be.
This should keep almost all dirt, moisture and other biology out...from the bottom at least. Read Less

Nothing inside of my deck box got wet when we had a torrential downpour last week so yes, it's water proof that way.
The bottom of the box doesn't sit on the ground so you don't have to worry about average puddles getting water into the box from the bottom either.

It's made out of resin, so yes it's a plastic but it's not a hard plastic that can break easily if that's what you're worried about. Mine has been out there all winter with the snow and rain, and during the summer in full sun and it looks as good as it did the first day I got it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect I purchased the resin deck box for my son's College Dorm Room. It is a great look in his room he LOVES it ! It allows him to keep his room neat by storing any and everything out of sight. Added benefit - extra seating. I tried a wicker decorative trunk and it couldn't stand up in a dorm room too frail. My son is a 3rd year student and a Resident Advisor and the freshmen on his floor think it's a great look also. So not just for your deck. ! Lol October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Second one works great First one I picked up was cracked in box on the top... Didn't even take it out the box and I returned it... Second one ... So far so good.. I put it together alone( I'm a 36 year old woman) basically with 8 year old all parts snapped in place.. I think a much older person can put it together just as easy alone... I'm just Storing grill supplies etc,.. Nice edition to my deck.. Sat on it its sturdy.. Looks to hold up so far only had for a week ... Will probably store in storage unit during winter... Just to make sure it last through the cold weather.. And I so I can get use of it for years to come... For the price and size and quality.. Great Buy! August 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great deck storage for gardening items I needed a storage option to hold some of my smaller gardening items like soil and tools, but I was looking for a goldilocks type item. Not too big or too small and this truly was just the right size. It doesn't take up too much room, it holds everything I wanted it to and a bit more, and its great for sitting on or using it as a temporary potting bench. The price compared to what I received was spot on. Assembly was just as easy as other reviews said it would be. I would consider purchasing others from this line to store grilling items too. It has kept out the monsoon rains we've experienced lately also, keeping everything inside dry. July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent purchase Came quickly. Was exceptionally easy to snap together. Good sturdy plastic, pleasing appearance and sturdy enough to sit on. Yes, I am very please with this product. October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Storage This box assembles in a matter of 30 secs. It looks great, has tons of room and well worth the price. October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best one ever Very well built and I have in a sunroom so can't talk about rain getting in but it holds a lot of stuff inside. And yes you can sit on it October 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 5 Minute Assembly, 4 To Read Instructions, 1 To Snap Together :-) This thing's incredible! As I said, it takes 5 minutes to assemble, 4 minutes to read the Instructions, and 1 minute to actually snap together the 6 panels ... it couldn't be easier. My only caution would be to look at what you're doing when you snap the top's hinges onto the back panel. Relatively sturdy, it holds a ton ... about the only thing I could find wrong is it might be a a bit too dark for your tastes. September 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product and easy to put together Assembly took less than 10 minutes. No tools required as it snaps together. No broken pieces or missing parts. There is no real hinge on the top but it opens and closes fine and stays open when you want. Sturdy enough to sit on. For a piece of resin furniture, it is actually pretty nice. As to the size, it's fine for what I wanted but your outdoor chair cushions make not fit. If that is what you are looking for, try a larger size. August 26, 2016
