I need foundation options for the Suncast 7.5 ft Outdoor Shed

This question is from 7.5 ft. x 7.5 ft. Resin Storage Shed

I read the assembly instructions manual and page 9 with details on wood foundation options. I have a height restriction and would like the thinnest foundation possible. Does Home Depot have options such as plastic pallets or plastic lumber (alternative materials) in plywood sizes that I could lay down onto my recycled rubber mulch to make at least an attempt at a flat surface in my backyard? Or perhaps someone could recommend some large, flat pavers that might work? Unfortunately I cannot use concrete in this location.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 31 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product The shed was delivered faster than I anticipated and weighed bout 450 lbs. The delivery driver had no trouble wheeling it into my garage for overnight storage. The storage shed I purchased as the 7.5 X 7.5 ft and came in 3 large boxes which I carried one by one to my back yard. I was able completely assemble the building in about 3 hours with no help. The only tough part was the installation of the roof which required a step ladder. The materials and installation instructions were great and it overall was extremely easy. Everything locks together. I would recommend this for anyone. I have never owned a resin shed below, so I am waiting to see how it holds up. So far, so good. January 3, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy assembly for non-assembler Overall assembly would have been extremely user friendly, except 2 of the 6 side panesl did not have pre-drilled holes for an easy slide-in step. I would have given 5 stars if I did not have to spend time drilling holes in the 2 side panels. Having "limited" handy-man assembly experience, instructions were succinct, easy-to-follow steps. No parts were missing and the entire assembly job including anchoring to an existing concrete pad took about 4 1/2 hours by myself. Appearance is nice, construction seems solid and windows in the side panels very nice for added light. I had a question about anchoring screws/kit to use, and the customer service department with Sun-Cast was excellent, helpful and courteous. March 23, 2010
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This shed is nice. The shed is the right for our needs. I like the sky light and the look. Only thing I feel it needs is more support for the walls, floor & doors. Support is ok but could be better. Also the kit was missing screws & planter boxes. I was able to put this together by myself in 2 hrs. There was enough parts to complete the main shed. screws for the floor and shudders were the only thing missing. The floor and building pieced together quick. All in all is a good shed for a fairly decent price. I still think it costs alot for just a plastic shed. April 27, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty good Shed that looks nice The shed looks really nice. It was pretty easy to put it together but you definately need a second person to help at times. It only took a long time cause it took me forever to anchor the floor to the concrete pad. The instructions are very good. The only thing wrong was that some of the pre-drill holes were not drilled. No big deal though. Just make sure you put the roof panels in at the right order. The shuttters were very hard to put in so I just decided to drill the holes all the way through and put screws in from the outside. April 24, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great, went together easily. I got this on a Cyber Monday special for $598 including shipping. The frieght carrier driver was great as rather than the specified curb delivery he helped me move it to my back yard. I had a 9' X 9' concrete pad poured as the base and in about 2-1/2 hours a helper and I had it up and complete. Pieces fit together well with a minimum of coaxing from a rubber mallet required. Appears to be a nice tight fit and weatherproof. I also got the accessory kit with the loft storage, corner shelves and tool hangers for added utility. January 1, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Missing parts While the shed is a quality product, all necessary screws were missing. I had to return to homedepot and buy some. Also the product description on homedepot website clearly states for this shed: 2 windows with shutters and window boxes. My shed arrived without any flower box. I would have given this item five stars but for bad QC, wasting my time looking for missing screws, a faulty product description and turning my sunday from a feeling of accomplishment to frustration I can give it just one star. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Happy with Product I put this unit together completely by myself. As others have mentioned, it would be better to have a second person help once you get to the roof; however, with a step latter, you can do it alone. It took me about 3 hours from start to finish. It is plastic, so the rigidity of the shed it not the same as wood, by serves the purpose just fine. The shed does come with metal braces for both the roof and a portion of the side walls for extra sturdiness. Overall, I was very satisfied with this product. January 24, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice shed but problem with service reps. Received this shed in 3 cartons on a wooden skid. The hardware, (screws & bolts) were missing and although specified on web listing thru Home Depot, the shed did not include the window boxes. After HAVING to speak with 3 different reps, including a supervisor, Suncast shipped the window box support frames without the boxes. I still do not have the boxes. Each person I spoke with tried to tell me window boxes were not included with this shed and the home depot listing was wrong. That should not be my problem. Suncast should resolve with Home Depot and not ignore the customer. The first rep also wanted to know the quality control number from the back of the instruction manual but there was none. Overall the shed is very nice but the service reps were not very cooperative and I am extremely disappointed with Suncast service. December 25, 2012
