Customer Questions & Answers

I need foundation options for the Suncast 7.5 ft Outdoor Shed

I read the assembly instructions manual and page 9 with details on wood foundation options. I have a height restriction and would like the thinnest foundation possible. Does Home Depot have options such as plastic pallets or plastic lumber (alternative materials) in plywood sizes that I could lay down onto my recycled rubber mulch to make at least an attempt at a flat surface in my backyard? Or perhaps someone could recommend some large, flat pavers that might work? Unfortunately I cannot use concrete in this location.

Thank you for contacting us about Suncast 7.5 ft. x 7.5 ft. Resin Storage Shed Model A01B02. A good foundation is essential for proper function of the Storage Shed. All shed testing has shown that a concrete or sturdy wood foundation is required. Our tests with paving blocks have shown that they shift over time and this affects the function of the shed, especially of the doors. Suncast makes a number of sheds. Each description lists list the height of the finished shed although the foundation height should be added that height. Foundation height will vary based on the materials and construction method used. Thank you for your interest in Suncast products.

Customer Reviews

7.5 ft. x 7.5 ft. Resin Storage Shed is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A NICE STORAGE SHED I never give anything a 5 star rating as the product could always be better! However, I am happy I bought this and it fits my needs exactly. I am an old man in a wheelchair and had to rely on my nephew ( age 50+ ) to erect it. It took two full afternoons from unpack to almost done status. The remainder was all about putting in ground anchors and packing up all the cardboard for recycle. Gene did it all by himself but really could have used another pair of hands to put the roof together. BEFORE I GO TO FAR- let me say- just as you will read in almost all plastic shed reviews, YOU NEED A LEVEL FOUNDATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Believe me- if you won't spend the time to establish a level foundation, be it concrete or firm sand-DON'T BOTHER. No Kidding- It's that important.!! The floor won't go together right if you have low spots, and that's where you start assembly. This is higher priced than some metal sheds but this looks like it will outlast me, plus no painting or other maintenance. It's a pretty thing. Delivery was by truck. Truck company (CONWAY) called a couple days ahead to schedule. They said the driver would call an hour ahead to warn me of imminent delivery, especially since I am in a wheelchair. Yeah right, blowing diesel horns was my delivery warning. If you have ever dealt with trucking companies, that is no surprise.- Home Depot, pay attention. Summary, a quality product at list price and my 10% off sale covered the sales tax and more. I am happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy assembly for non-assembler Overall assembly would have been extremely user friendly, except 2 of the 6 side panesl did not have pre-drilled holes for an easy slide-in step. I would have given 5 stars if I did not have to spend time drilling holes in the 2 side panels. Having "limited" handy-man assembly experience, instructions were succinct, easy-to-follow steps. No parts were missing and the entire assembly job including anchoring to an existing concrete pad took about 4 1/2 hours by myself. Appearance is nice, construction seems solid and windows in the side panels very nice for added light. I had a question about anchoring screws/kit to use, and the customer service department with Sun-Cast was excellent, helpful and courteous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product The shed was delivered faster than I anticipated and weighed bout 450 lbs. The delivery driver had no trouble wheeling it into my garage for overnight storage. The storage shed I purchased as the 7.5 X 7.5 ft and came in 3 large boxes which I carried one by one to my back yard. I was able completely assemble the building in about 3 hours with no help. The only tough part was the installation of the roof which required a step ladder. The materials and installation instructions were great and it overall was extremely easy. Everything locks together. I would recommend this for anyone. I have never owned a resin shed below, so I am waiting to see how it holds up. So far, so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Withstood the Hurricane It took a few hours and some cursing to put it together (husband & wife team), but this is a durable and sturdy shed. We put it together in June and we were just recently hit with Hurricane Sandy (we are about 2 1/2-3 miles straight line distance from the coast). This shed withstood the wind and rain and sustained no damage, keeping all of the contents safe and undamaged. For that, I am giving this shed 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with purchase Took me 3.5 hours to build by myself (had a friend push a few of the roof panels into place at the end, while I guided them into the grooves). Been through a heavy rain and 4 inches of snow and everything is dry inside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice durable shed, hard to put together alone. Perfect size to hold everything and it has the ability to put shelves in it. Just pretty hard to try to put together by yourself. Highly recommend 2 people.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy with Product I put this unit together completely by myself. As others have mentioned, it would be better to have a second person help once you get to the roof; however, with a step latter, you can do it alone. It took me about 3 hours from start to finish. It is plastic, so the rigidity of the shed it not the same as wood, by serves the purpose just fine. The shed does come with metal braces for both the roof and a portion of the side walls for extra sturdiness. Overall, I was very satisfied with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall an excellent choice All the parts where there. Everything fit together perfectly. Seems sturdy once all together. Value: Very happy with the price I paid, which was a significant sale. I lowered the value to 4 stars based on the list price. Instructions were very good.
