Does this need to have a concrete foundation?

Asked by: CaliUser
I had hard, flat ground to put mine on. It has worked fine. I have not needed a concrete pad so far.

The width of the door opening is shown as 70 inches. Is this correct? The one I got is only 61 1/2 inches.

Did I get the wrong shed?

Customer Reviews

7 ft. 9.75 in. x 7 ft. 10.75 in. Resin Storage Shed is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Purchase, Easy Construction Purchased one of these on sale, and have to admit I initially felt intimidated about the assembly. The delivery was on time, and the driver (Estes Freight) was helpful, polite and cooperative about "bulling" the 500lb palatalized package safely out-of-the-way, even though this was only supposed to be curbside delivery. Once my nephew started (with me playing go-fer, panel supporter and general all-round stooge) the job was done in two hours. Things snapped in place with relative ease and lined up properly with a little bit of elbowing and a minimum of, uh, colorful language. We were building on a pre-existing concrete pad, so the only real tools necessary were a drill for the floor assembly and a utility knife for the occasional (and rare) odd gob of plastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid shed!! Great shed so far. Easy to put together as long as you follow the directions exactly step by step. Skip a step and you will be sorry. Make sure you have a VERY level ground to set it up on. You will need at least two people to put parts of it together. Very solid and although it has vent areas it doesn't leak. At least not that I have found so far. Assesories to organize for this shed is only sold online :(

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Suncast Storage Shed I bought this storage shed on a special summer deal for $499 . It is a good shed and made pretty good but the roof was very hard to put together . It took me around 16 hrs too finally build it with 4-5 hrs out of this time to build the floor . I am glad I didn't pay around the $1100 or I would have been very dispointed. That's is why I give it only 3 stars for this model. Vinny , Grand Island NY 5/4/16

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Solid Shed The shed was not too challenging to put together, though some pieces didn't slide or pop together exactly as they should. It definitely was a two man job to get this set up, but the end result is a solid shed that does its job keeping contents clean, dry and covered.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Suncast Storage Building Requires patience when doing assembly. Everything is up, but missing crucial roof support. Manufacturer was quick to resolve, now waiting for part delivery so that the building can be completed.
