Are there actually any of these sheds ever available on sale. I'm skeptical. It always seems impossible to get one.

I feel the exact same way as I've never seen it actually 'in stock' and I sent an inquiry to Home Depot to see if they would honor a rain check #allow us to order/pay now and when back in stock, they will ship#...waiting to hear back.

Suncast sheds are engineered to function well throughout the United States and Canada. The Suncast wood and resin shed model WRS8800 is no different.
As with any plastic outdoor item, certain precautions are in order. We caution our customers to treat their products carefully in extreme temperatures. Excessive heat causes plastic to soften but it will regain original resiliency once temperatures become more normal. Extreme cold will make plastics more prone to accidental impact damage. Dry snow is light and weighs about 6 pounds per cubic foot. Wet and icy snow is much heavier, weighing over 20 pounds per cubic foot. We recommend removing snow over 6 inches and leaf and limb debris from roofs in order to lessen the possibility of weather-related damages. Damage caused by weather or misuse is not covered under warranty.
With proper care, your purchase of a Suncast WRS8800 should last you many satisfactory years of service.

I live in southern NM and do not want the contents to get too hot. Would it be reasonable to insulate the shed roof and walls with foam sheets? Has anyone tried this and did it work out well?

Answer:
Yes, it would be reasonable for you to insulate the walls and roof of the Suncast cedar and resin storage shed model WRS8800. Because the timber framing is exposed on the inside, it can be insulated with batting or foam panels easily enough, although Suncast has not attempted this.

8 ft. x 8 ft. Cedar and Resin Hybrid Storage Shed is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from beautiful shed true the interior frame wood was warped. a builder friend thought it was due to shipping from a dry warehouse to our wet locale, the oregon coast. but it all went together as instructed by the well diagrammed instructions. the cedar exterior wood is beautiful, well cut for assembly, went on easily and the finished shed is really cute. the resin components are well made, blend nicely to make the picture attractive, and are easily installed. the assembly required a person with competent carpentry knowledge...only used 4 stars as its pricey for its size and interior boards werent best quality, but the end product is well worth the cost and effort if attractiveness matters to you. we got our own screws rather than used the provided screws and suggest you do the same.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Shed. Overall satisfied with it. Overall the shed was a great buy. Some parts didn't line up or the cedar was warped but I expected that to be the case. Beautiful. Once we rolling it was quite simple. Only problem I really had was after construction the door handle where you lock the doors broke off and we need to re-a line the roof. It was raised in order to level it but the additional 1 x 4's caused a 1 inch gap. Must have been a defective part. Suncast is sending an replacement part.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice Design Kit - Bad Products We came across several issues. Some were expected after reading other buyers reviews. Here's the list of my concerns/frustrations. -The nails were terrible. Buy your own elsewhere. -We had nearly 10 cedar siding boards delivered that were unusable - warped, split/cracked, holes from knots. When Suncast sent replacement boards, you'd think they would pay close attention and send quality boards... Not the case, even the replacements had to be jimmy'd to work. -The hardware - take a look at the attached pictures. The paint was chipped when we pulled it out of the box, and one piece was completely broken...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall a great looking shed Shed was delivered on an over-sized pallet and it was packaged very well with no damage at all. The components are stacked in such a way as to follow the steps in the assembly manual. Some of the items weren't accurately marked per the instructions but I was able to sort things out by visually comparing the component and/or by measuring it. As with any natural wood product there were some pieces of wood that weren't exactly straight but none that weren't entirely unusable. For example, a couple of the rafter pieces were not true but I w as still able to nail them together and in the end the roof did fit together. As for the cedar siding boards, I found that only a couple of boards weren't exactly straight but I was able to adjust for this when siding the walls. I found that the trickiest part was at step no. 67 of the assembly manual as the holes in the roof lathe did not exactly line up with the indents on the underside of the roof panel so I simply had to screw into the roof underside at a slight offset. It took me and my wife approximately 24 hours to build the shed which we worked on over a couple of weekends as we did not entirely devote our free time to it. Overall I am satisfied with the quality at this specific price point. For reference, the cost to build the wood flooring with pressure treated lumber and the concrete piers alone cost me approximately $450.00. You could purchase a larger shed at a lower price point but if you want the look of cedar and easy assembly, then I believe this is a great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not just a shed We purchased this shed for an art stuido. It was easy to build and I can't believe the outcome of this product. The instructions were having you go back and forth and the hardware was not the best quailty, but it didn't bother us going to the Home Depot to get what we needed. I am extremely happy with the product and for this being our first shed to build and purchase it was a great experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Shed, but a bit of work to put together Its about 100 diagrams and a lot of instructions. As is normal the 2x4's were a little warped, making squaring it up a bit difficult. i also had to build a base for the shed, cost about $100 to put a wood base together, and the time to construct that as well, The shed is nice and functional, and its easy to customize with shelves that attach to the wood, and i figured out how to put some shelves up high to make use of the attic space as well. It would be nice if they had a kit to set up inside of the she though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from looks just like add Nice that you can see and download manual online before it arrived. We were able to get the foundation ready by the time it came. I had trouble with shipping company not having a forklift truck to remove it from truck. It comes on a crate weighing over 1000 pounds. The Resolution Help Department at Home Depot was able to have it delivered to store and then shipped to home. It was nicely organized main large plastic items in one top box. and each wall in its own box, keeps it organized. Looks nice when done.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Happy I purchased this shed on sale ~800.00 for that price it is a great value. I assembled it alone. I took 3 FULL days. If I had help probably could have banged it out in one and a half days. Like other reviews said, some of the pieces are very warped but luckily wood bends. The instructions are good but a bit vague in a few places like how much space to leave around the window opening when adding the siding.
