Customer Questions & Answers

Can this shed be locked?

Are there holes/grooves for an external lock to be attached?
Asked by: Anonymous
yes, it can be locked but can easily be broken into. The little slots where the padlock goes into... can be ripped off pretty easily with a good pair of plyers. You can also lock it where the door handles are, but it wouldn't hold up to a crowbar. In summary, you need to put this shed in a protected yard, and don't advertise you have valuables inside.

Can a hungry bear open a locked shed?

I'm interested in using this as a dumpster for bagged household trash that a medium sized black bear has learned a taste for. If I secure the shed to the foundation and lock it, is it likely that the bear can break it open? Damage it?
Asked by: Mori
Yes, a bear can tear it to shreds.

Good directions are provided. I bought two for extra storage and they fulfilled my needs nicely. The earth tone colors are also nice, as they match my current garage. I did build a wooden platform out of pressure treated lumber before installing the storage sheds. After placed on the platform I secured them each with 4 long screws into the wood so they cant move. Although once you get them loaded they aren't going anywhere. I have used Suncast items in the past and have always been happy with the products.

This shed was perfect for our need to store a snow blower and lawn mower outside of our garage. Assembly was fairly easy, though we needed to employ the use of a mallet to bang some pieces into place. The most challenging part was the base you're going to want to put down under it. The plywood they suggested in the owners manual wouldn't have likely held up the heavy equipment we planned to put in there so we had a professional (my father) come and build a mini-deck and ramp which will make the use of it much easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good I had looked many different storages, and this one was the cheapest and the biggest one. Bought this storage about two months ago. It fits my need very well. I stored a wheel barrel, a push lawnmower, a container full of miscellaneous items. It took me less than an hour to assemble. No special tool is needed. One side storage wall fitted perfect, but the other side screw holes were not aligned perfectly. I had to force screws to go in. No other problems with assembly. The box (original package) was very big. It did not fit into my mini van. I had to put it on the top of the mini van. No issue carrying it to home. It requires two people to carry the box; unless you have a dolly.

However, one draw back was that the barrels I wanted to store had some difficulties sliding under the center mental that holds the roof. The measurement(s) did not take that into consideration concerning that part of the height. As a result, I had to loosen a few screws, lifted the roof to slide them under, and left it that way. Overall, other than that cross/center metal, it took an inch off the height from inside. So; if you have a tight object that that the height cannot be adjusted to fit, and it will pass under the center mental, you might have some issues. Again I would recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks great, alignment could have been better The shed looks great and will easily fit quite a bit. The reason for my 3 star review is: 1. There are no options for accessories like peg boards, shelves, etc 2. It took 2.5 hours for 2 people to assemble. While the instructions are decent, alignment was tricky and not very precise. This required some "elbow grease". The roof does not slide open that easily. Overall I am satisfied because there are very few sheds with less than 5 feet in height. This is probably the best one out there.

They helped me put it in my truck and were very helpful throughout the ordering process. It was pretty heavy and since I was alone I opened the package at home and pulled the parts out of the box. It was very easy to assemble following the enclosed directions. It has a nice capacity. I have 2 bicycles, a generator and yard tools inside with room left over. It is waterproof and a great addition to my yard.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Suncast Glidetop Shed The shed was fairly easy to assemble, and the instructions in the guide were straightforward. There was just one difficult assembly procedure in the very beginning when the second panel needed to slide into its locking slits and overlap the first panel; the overlapping sections were slightly askew, making the final push to lock in the second panel impossible without the use of a rubber mallet. The instructions said nothing about needing a rubber mallet.

Easy assembly, ANYONE that can follow instructions can do it in about 1 hour from start to finish. I can understand the need for a foundation if you use it to store heavy items. I store 2 bicycles so I opted to place it on my gravel pad adjacent to my patio. It works very well for this application. The doors and sliding roof makes access easy. We live in a WET coast of WA. and rain and wind come from all directions and it hasn't leaked a drop.
