Does this come with a floor?

Asked by: Dmt319
it has a floor panel which lays on your concrete slab or wooden floor panels. You provide the cement or wooden base. See the assembly manual here: http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/9a/9a41f7f4-a6be-4071-8bff-ff643306863b.pdf

We liked the size/dimensions of this shed and the price was reasonable. It took three able men about 2 and half hours to assemble it. It seems sturdy and durable and has a very nice appearance. I was surprised and pleased at the same time to see how many bikes actually fit inside. We also bought the available accessories; shelving to keep the helmets, and baskets and hooks for outdoor brooms, snow salt etc. I def recommend this shed for anyone with a small area.

Also, check your forecast for approaching afternoon storms. We spent several hours building a solid foundation for this shed (a must) as I don't recommend this on direct ground. We then began assembling the building, easy to do and nearly all can be done by hand. And then an afternoon storm blew up...we had all the walls up and roof mostly on but not fully locked in when the rain ran us indoors...needless to say after a few 40+ mph gusts of wind our new partially assembled shed headed for the back forty ....rolling multiple times before coming to rest a good 150 feet from it's original spot. Reassembly of shed was a bit more tricky as a few of the pieces were now "wonky" and not factory true as before. Regardless, it's rebuilt and still solid so I can safely attest to the fact that it took a lickin and is still usable. I also appreciate the two extra wall screws enclosed in package as that is exactly how many broke during its unplanned flight and subsequent rough landing. Love the color as it blends right in with my home and I finally have all the junk out of my house. This little shed holds a LOT of stuff. It is a tough little shed and I would definitely recommend it. And we've since had another very windy Texas thunderstorm and the little bugger didn't budge now that it's affixed to it's solid foundation.

Everything was going fine with putting it together until a major part was missing. A side panel was missing, received an extra corner. Really Suncast? Installation now stalled. Called the company and received no apology, no offer for quick shipping, what a joke. 7-10 business days when it will arrive. Need better quality control Suncast.

The directions were straightforward and after a few times through them, I was able to figure out how the shed is put together. I would say the trickiest part is putting together the roof. If done right, the entire structure becomes stronger and more rigid which is what you want in a shed. Just a heads up: it is best to build the shed in warm weather. The resin is a bit more flexible and can be maneuvered more easily.

Make sure you plan on a floor support system. Don't get surprised with the instructions just because it comes with a floor - I was with my first building that came with what seemed to be a sturdy floor. You still need a floor base. I recommend downloading the owners manual before going to buy this. It has a complete material list needed for your floor system. Over the years I have bought several metal buildings and put together with ease, but nothing compared to how easy this one was. My first resin building was the Lifetime 15 x 8. I wish I knew then what I know now. If I ever buy more, no doubt it will be this one, even if I need multiple to meet my size needs. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the handle as well, especially compared to my Lifetime one that cost me 3 times the price of this one. So far it has withstood a few severe thunderstorms with very high wind gusts. As with any outdoor storage, if you want a better seal, I would caulk the seams. Some fit snug, and some had a minor gap. Nothing extreme, just my OCD kicking in, so I would seal them.

Pretty decent shed, assembly is not bad at all, better if two persons work on it but I did 99% by my own just asked my wife to help with last roof section. My product came missing some hardware and got a wrong bracket for the roof assembly, I did call the manufacturer and got in 3 days all correct parts and missing hardware. A firm and level base is a most otherwise I do not recommend to attempt the install, the instructions are basic and some improvement would be great, it can be confused to understand few steps. Overall I think it is a decent product for the price, but be ready for a long weekend working outside with this project, it can be fun if you follow the instructions in detail and watch few videos on line that will help a lot.
