Customer Questions & Answers

What kind of foundation is required?

cement slab? wooden skids? concrete block?
Asked by: Sammie
Concrete slab is preferred. I used a wooden foundation that is secured to the ground. If the area used for the shed floods easily, i would use a wood foundation that sits on blocks,.

Will this shed fit on a 8X10 foot base? The base is already there.

Will this shed fit on a 8X10 foot base? The base is already there.
Asked by: Nodak
Yes it will. For the short side the 8' length is perfect, but my experience shows that on the long side 10'-2" would be preferred.

Tremont 8 ft. 4-1/2 in. x 10 ft. 2-1/4 in. Resin Storage Shed is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 41.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Engineered as perfect as plastic allows! I am a contractor and I assemble products like this. Most of the time I substitute my experience to make up for poor engineering and terrible instructions. Not with this product! I did this start to finish 6 hours by myself once the 2 big boxes were unpacked and all pieces were laid out. You will definately benefit from a 8 foot ladder and a 4 foot folding step stool. If you are having problems with fit or level around the corners it is because you are slightly off level. Temporarily leveling will allow you to snug things up. If you have a lighter, low speed cordless drill driver, it is ideal. You can count on using about 250 philips head screws during assembly, and you will quickly get a feel for the difference between snug, and stripping. A low speed drill is perfect for feeling this out. In the initial stages of putting the walls up, i recommend a couple of simple clamps to hold the seams together while you screw in the 4 big plastic screws that secure the wall seams. I do not give "10s", but this project gets a 9.9 from me. IMPORTANT; FIND A WAY TO ANCHOR THE 4 CORNERS OR IT WILL BECOME A KITE IN WINDS ABOVE 40MPH

Rated 5 out of 5 by from quality product excellent customer service I bought the Tremont 81100 and ordered the extension to add before I assembled the whole shed, making it a Tremont 81300. The key factor is that you must, must, must have a leveled base, otherwise the wall panels would not fit together, and you would have a gap at the base. The roof is somewhat tricky to install, as it will need two people to snug the pieces together. you may keep the truss beams attachments loose and move the pieces around until you get all the roof pieces together. SunCast customer service is the best I encountered in many years. no wait time on the phone, very knowledgeable, and they send you any missing hardware pieces promptly. The guarantee is for 10 years and figuring the value of the product, you will come ahead as compared to wooden or brick shed. one advice is to order a shed a little bigger than what you want. I ordered the Cascade and then turned around and ordered the Tremont. Suncast is a US based company with customer service based in Chicago so you can speak with someone whom you could understand, unlike other farmed out customer services which you spend the day on hold. Once installed, you have hard time replacing a damaged piece as you have to take apart several piece to latch them with the damaged piece. That said I am still very pleased with the product.

It arrived on the scheduled delivery date. We had someone to build a wood foundation and assemble the shed on our backyard. It is a good looking and sturdy shed. I would definitely recommend this product to others.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from the shed Well, HD found the shed for us and we bought it.Went about building a base for it as per Suncast's instructions. When we opened the boxes, the headers and right door were damaged. HD told us to contact Suncast and we did, they sent out the parts the same day. 5 days later they arrived and the door was damaged.Understandably, they asked for pic's which we sent, a new door was on it,s way.The shed is up and impressive, but doubly so because of the stellar service from Suncast. Now, I find the front of the shed to be shaky so I'm going to make "plates" out of plywood. They will tie the header to the small front panel on each side of the doors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to assemble and sturdy I purchased this shed to store some yard equipment in as an easy alternative to building a wood shed with shingles. First and foremost it was delivered very quickly and right out of the box was very simple to assemble, very impressed with how sturdy the shed is and the amount of space it provides for the high quality versus the low price. I could not be more happy with the purchase, it is attractive looking and again watertight and sturdy, I secured mine to a concrete pad with some concrete screws and put a small stone pad in front of it. After three major rainstorms not a single drop of water in the shed, very very satisfied

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shed It took some time to put together about six-hours or so. Be sure to layout all the parts and read the instructions before starting. Be sure to put on level ground or you will have issues with aligning the roof. If that happens just shime one of the corner with a piece of wood to get in align and keep trying different corners to be sure it is lined up as best as possible. Very good quality and if you follow the instructions it comes together nicely I would watch a you tube video on it as well.
