Due to the space constraints of retrofitting a duct fan in my house, I needed to install the fan right next to the furnace, far (maybe 50 or 60 feet?) upstream of the heat register that I wanted to boost flow to. I was worried that Suncourt's axial fan wouldn't perform well blowing against that much static pressure, so I bit the bullet and bought the more expensive centrifugal fan. It is UNBELIEVABLE! Airflow through the boosted duct is probably 3-4 times more than before. And the fan can generate so much pressure that when I tried closing the louvers on the heat register, the airflow literally lifted the whole heat register out of the floor! Our 2nd story master bedroom went from uncomfortably hot with the AC running 24/7, to cooling down within 5 or 10 minutes of the AC kicking on. As for noise, I installed a short run of insulated flexible duct just upstream and downstream of the fan, which does a perfect job of stopping vibrations from reverberating through the ductwork. The only sound I hear is from the extra flow - definitely far less noisy than if there was a box fan in the bedroom. Buy it!!!

I used the product as an inline fan for my oven exhaust.
Works like a charm.

Great investment, I used it to boost a/c air to our 2nd floor bedroom. Helps cool the intire level by pushing up the cold air all the way from the basment.
It's not loud, however there is some wind noise due to the amount of air being moved so I may try the option muffler in the near future? Not sure if I'll use it in the winter yet.

This is a very strong fan that pushes a lot of air. It has some nice mounting features that make installation easy.
I wanted to use it to boost airflow to my bedroom, but this was overkill. It was too loud and actually pulled air backward through other nearby registers. I wanted to slow it down, but Suncourt support told me that the fan is not compatible with speed control devices.
It would be a great fan for some applications, just not mine.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Secrist A lot more CFM then other 6" fans.
This fan compared to my 6" Can Fan is both lighter & more quite. With a much higher CFM, which is what you need to keep the air fresh and moving.

Bought this fan for my over-the-range microwave oven exhaust duct. I added two additional air grilles to help remove cooking odors. Mounted this fan in the attic above the kitchen cabinets (ranch style home).
It has worked very well and is quiet. But the vibration isolation mounting hardware is very poor, So I modified the mounts. Wired mine with a "current switch" and 110V utility relay. Automatically turns fan on only when microwave fan is running. No additional switch required.
I shopped around for a good price and Home Depot had the best price. Unfortunately, it's not available in stores, only on-line.
Amp draw is not given in the on-line data (1.76-amps) Also, no sound level data available, either in the on-line data, or the fan data sheet.

Our central air system has a hard time cooling our second floor. With the sweltering heat we've had so far this summer we decided to give the system a boost. After reading other reviews we chose this inline fan and are happy we did. The unit really does a great job blowing refreshing cool air to the upstairs registers...and it's quiet to boot!
Used this in conjunction with a temperature sensor on the duct work to regulate when the fan comes on and goes off. We bought the plug-in versions of the regulator and the fan so it was a snap to install.
Bought the unit online and had it shipped free to Home Depot for pickup. Very convenient.
