Customer Questions & Answers

Is this fan suitable for use in the kitchen mounted in a custom hood?

Asked by: 6502
No this fan is not rated for that application. You need to look for a fan rated for smoke and grease.

Customer Reviews

6 in. Duct Fan with More Powerful Motor is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Depends on what you need it for. Well the price was great, It definitely needs more fan power. I had to tweak the blades a little to get a little more air out of it. I guess it just depends on what you need it for. It doesn't come with a plug and cord. So far it has been running 24/7 and no problems. I look at most other 6in fans and they wanted a fortune for them.So far I'm happy may buy another one to make up what this doesn't have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality at a good price This product was what I was looking for. More power motor than the one I purchased before and the fan was not plastic. Hook up was easy and it worked the way I expected. I would recommend this product which comes with a year warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product works better that I expected Excellent quality and kind of loud but I knew it would be because have one with less power. This one really kicks and moves the air.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet & Powerful I installed this fan in my attic to help the circulation up there. Put it on the end of a duct. Attached a thermostat to it. (Master Flow model PT6). I do not know what speed it is on. No switch or instructions on what is the "boost" speed. It's a strong flow, either way. Very happy with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product works very well for me The fan works as expected. I have it wired with an x10 receiver to turn on when my furnace fan turns on and I am really happy with it. It blows a reasonable amount of air but I don't think it meets the advertised CFM (in my application). The only other downfall is that it is loud. However, I expect that a little insulation in the right places should take care of most of it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from low quality fan fan worked great for about 4 weeks then started started rattling. made so much noise it had to be removed. vibrations seemed to be coming from loose main shaft in the fan motor. no easy fix so returned it to the store for a refund.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Suncourt duct fan I'm pleased with the amount of air this fan moves into our bedroom that didn't seem to get enough a/c from our heat pump!
Date published: 2016-06-24
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Moves air but is very noisy Purchased 2 of these to increase the air flow to one of the bedrooms farthest away from furnace fan for cooling in summer since my son has lots of extra heat load in his room (plasma tv, refrig, multiple computers). Installed one fan (had to get small electrical box from HD and mount to fan housing since wires just exit fan body through grommet) and fired it up. Very noisy - and not just air noise, it had a rattle kind of noise that transmitted through the ductwork back to the header which made the noise travel to all other rooms that connected to heard in that same location. It was so loud, I couldn't imagine putting up with it so I removed it and took both back to HD. Ended up getting a small window A/C unit at HD which worked very well, and much easier to install. If you really need more air flow and can put up with the noise it will work, but not for me.
