Great for connecting a room to the rest of the house ventalation.
Used this summer in bedroom to expell hot air for air conditioning, combined with Gila Heat control windoe film it did an excellent job.
Would get 5 stars if reversable via switch.

We installed the fan in a doorway leading to a hallway in our mobile home. The idea was to move heated air from our newly installed pellet stove in the living room. I had read previous reviews so I wasn't disillusioned when I installed the fan. A little noisy? Yes! Compact? Yes! I do believe it is doing the job I hired it to do. I wasn't expecting it to be powerful enough to blow paint off the wall, just keep the air moving to the latter regions of our home. And that it does. I like the unique desogn, resulting in no head wounds as people pass through the doorway. I would certainly purchase this fan again.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by HotAir Loud but moves the air
I mounted this in my basement family room to move the hot air from the room my woodstove is in down a hallway to another room. The fan really moves alot of air fast. It is loud though. No speed control, its either on or off.

I read the reviews and thought, how noisy can it be? I mounted it in the doorway, ran it for about 2 hours and it's back in the box. Think of the noisiest bathroom fan and that's how loud it is. My house has a fairly open floorplan and you could hear this thing no matter what room you were in. I ran a sound meter near it and compared it to a 16" Holmes pedestal fan on high. Holmes fan was about 60 dBA and this fan was 72 dBA (measurements taken from about 1 foot from the side of the units). And the pedestal fan moves 10 times more air. Big difference from the specifications shown on the site. Serves me right for not heeding the other reviewers. It's loud. You have been warned!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by macedon2775 Easy to make perfect - I have two!
Yes, the one speed is noisier than we like, but easy fix is to order on-line an air-temp fan controller for $20. Used for years to quiet loud stove fans. Makes the fan whisper quiet and moves the air nicely. Try it.

we seen all the CONS and PROS on this fan.. we still bought one. kinda thought you all were a little to sensitive... installed it in hallway door way it was louder than the pellet stove fan.... and after about 5 min. it started making a squealing sound.. I shut it off.. boxed it up and am returning it to store...so you were all correct... also wish it had a 2 speed on it... oh well search continues
