Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Buyer be aware I doubt that it can push 300 cfm air through 6" opening. I used it in a duct that connects an opening in my new sun room to the main duct work in the house. It was wired to turn on at high speed when the blower in the furnace kicked in. I was surprised to find that I was having better result (in terms of temperature change) without than with this fan. It seems to me that the polycarbonate blades in this unit are designed to turn without moving much air. In fact, the motor itself takes up much of the cross sectional area, thus impeding rather than helping airflow. Subsequently, I removed it. It might be useful in a situation where you don't get much airflow at all. December 30, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good fan store doesn't carry control unit I have a number of these fans and they do what they are advertised to do. The only problem i had was obtaining the control units. Each fan needs one and the store does not carry them. The part number is ds100. Since the store stocks the fans they should also stock the controls. With out the controls the fans are useless because you can not turn them on an off. The control one per fan mounts on the hvac duct and when i senses air flow in turns the fan on when the air flow stops it turns the fan off. January 30, 2013
