Hello, No, It is not recommended to switch with a second variable speed switch. You will need to contact the fan manufacturer for a solution. Thanks, Suncourt.

I have a gas power generator I use to run my sump pump. the start up surge will kick the breaker on the generator. can I use it to slowly bring my pump to full power-the full 12 amps.
Asked by: boogie
Hello, No,the variable speed switch will not change the startup amp draw. Our switch is limited to 6 amps so the switch couldn't handle the amp draw anyway. You should contact the generator company and see if they have a solution. Thanks, Suncourt

Can I use this controller to slow down an induction motor whole house fan?
Asked by: MxPapa
Hello, You will need to contact the whole house fan manufacturer to see if their motor is compatible. Not all fan motors are rated for use with a variable speed switch. Thanks, Suncourt

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does this product work? This product worked perfectly for me and absolutely could not be easier to install. There have been previous reviews stating that this speed controller does not work and to avoid it. As I read those other reviews, it states that they are using "centrifugal" fans and not "in line" fans. The Suncourt website specifically states that this Variable Speed Controller is for use with all of their "in-line" fans, so that should put to bed in conflicting reviews.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked fine The fan rattles a bit at slower than half speed, but that isn't the fault of the controller. Still successful at reduction of fan speed and noise.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Variable control It worked very well , slowed down the fan so noise level was less. Did exactly what it was supposed to do.
