product began to rust immediately. reinforced top before installation to prevent sagging. Sprayed with rust-oleum. even supports for stakes were manufactured incorrectly and bowed. hooks are designed to hold canopy top and holes are exposed to rain and must be caulked. support stakes are needed on verticals. Sunjoy describes this product as a temporary sun shelter and they really mean it.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bonnie Looks good but install and maintenance is a bear
I would recommend this gazebo for a sheltered, temporary installation, and then only if you have lots of time on your hands for set-up and take-down. There are 52 bolts and 23 poles, bars, cross-pieces, etc. Provide your own wrench, not the toy one that comes in the box. Also, be aware that the product is lightweight and will not stand on its own; be prepared to drill some holes in your deck to secure the base, or install directly on the ground using the stakes provided. Also you should find some way to attach it to a wall or other secure structure as it wouldn't take much wind to twist the whole construction out of shape. This is nothing like the barbecue gazebo HD used to sell, which is still standing after several years of 4-season use.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jill Pretty But Not Very Functional
This product was built fairly easily but the directions weren't clear - we had to unattach some pieces and reposition them as it wasn't clear which side the pre-drilled holes should face, etc.... Some simple arrow stickers indicating which way was up would have helped. We got it done though. I purchased this gazebo to fit an uncovered balcony for some protection from rain and sun, and was able to test it out pretty quickly. Within an hour of completing assembly, it began to rain. I was disappointed this morning to see that the rain did not drain off the slanted canopy, but pooled on it instead. There were literally buckets-worth of water sitting in the canopy this morning. The canopy is now stretched and is sure to be a water cistern the next time it rains. This item is marketed as an outdoor item, and should therefore, be functional as such. I had looked up reviews for the item and saw that some people had left theirs up in the rain and stated that it was fine. I don't expect it to be able to withstand gale-force winds or very severe weather, but we shouldn't have to remove the cover for average rainfall. It defeats the purpose. I am disappointed because I cannot use it as intended.
