Product Overview

The Sunoptics Prismatic 26-5/8 in. x 26-5/8 in. Venting Pyramid Skylight is an energy efficient way to properly illuminate the interior of your home while allowing the added benefit of natural air ventilation. Sunoptics prismatic designs provide up to 50 percent more light than traditional white bubble skylights while also providing 100 percent diffusion to eliminate hot spots while providing glare-free natural light for more hours per day. The superior frame provides moisture protection redundancy and a fully insulated thermal break that encapsulates the underside of the frame to greatly reduce condensation concerns. Add value and visual comfort to your home by utilizing high performance prismatic skylights from Sunoptics.

  • Prismatic lenses provide the maximum amount of light with 100 percent diffusion while eliminating hot spots and glare
  • Triple glazed, impact-modified acrylic prismatic lenses provide additional thermal protection while maximizing visible transmission of light compared to conventional plastic skylights
  • Pyramid-shaped lens design collects daylight at lower sun levels when compared to flat lenses
  • Powder-coated bronze aluminum frame is fully welded and sealed eliminating expansion and contraction concerns as well as thermal bridging that can come from mechanically attached frames
  • Multi-surface wet seal and integral condensation and exterior weep gutters drain any interior moisture out of the frame and away from the building reducing exposure to moisture penetration
  • Manual skylight operator with integral bug screen provides ventilation for the space without allowing pests indoors
  • Vent operation requires the sunoptics telescopic venting operator pole (sold separately)
  • Flashing kit available for curb installation (sold separately)
  • AAMA certified to US and Canadian standards

Customer Questions & Answers

how much is the optional control rod??

Asked by: Jimmy
I think it's $30 if I remember correctly. It's shown as one of the options along with the flashing under the pic of the skylight if you scroll down.

What is the maximum height you can raise the vent?

Asked by: samincal
I haven't opened it yet so I really don't know. However the picture appears that it opens around 3 inches and really, that should certainly be enough to vent a hot room. You don't want to open it too much in case it rains and you forget to close it before leaving the house.

The old skylights were 20 years old and cracked. Delivery of these came in next day! These are very easy to install if you are replacing existing skylights. Just place some insulating strips around the edge, press down and screw in. The old skylights were fixed. The new venting skylights help keep the house cool when it's hot and, because they are both in the bathroom, are great for venting those areas when a little extra fresh air is needed! Venting skylights are twice the cost of the fixed versions, but well worth it for the venting capabilities. I would recommend these for purchase. You will need to purchase the Solar Optics Crank pole (only extends 3 - 5 ft) and the extension pole (another 3 ft) if you have high ceilings like I do.

Appears to be made well enough to last at least as long as the new roof I just put on a couple months ago. Brings in noticeably more light due to its design. Appears well made. I like the ability to open the light to allow circulation in the room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great value prism makes for spread out light across the bathrooms which is good; tight fit much better material than the stock bubble dome skylights HD stocks on the shelf.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product/Poor Shipping I was reroofing my house in Baja and the kitchen was too hot while cooking so decided to install this operable skylight. Since roofing was in process I opted for the expedited delivery to my home in California. When I took the skylight out of the box for the roofers we noted that one of the corners had been bent in during shipping. I would recommend having it shipped to the nearest store and open before accepting it. We made the skylight work and it works beautifully. On my 2 piece tile roof we built a 2x6 curb on the roof sheathing to place the skylight on, I also order the flashing kit available for this skylight which worked out very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was one of the easiest projects I have done The hardest part of this project was removal of the old sky light. Once removed this one fit perfectly, 8 screws later and it was done. I now have a skylight that I can open. Quality looks good and operation is smooth.
