It's easy to apply, but be careful because it starts to fuse to itself right away. The resulting seal seems pretty good. It's a great option to have at hand for some applications.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for difficult repairs I applied E-Z Fuse Tape to a vacuum hose that had broken open and was held together by only the spiral wire that was enclosed by the plastic/rubber hose wall. The two ends were attached by the spiral wire, but they were six inches apart. We had tried to repair the hose with two or three different brands of duct tape, and package tape, but it kept coming apart. The flexibility and the fusing characteristics of E-Z Fuse Tape seemed appropriate for this repair. I cleaned off all the duct tape and package tape residue with Goo Gone. After cleaning off the residue with Goo Gone, I cleaned both ends of the hose thoroughly with alcohol, two times. Then I dried off the alcohol. Then I applied the E-Z Fuse Tape, following the directions and overlapping half of each turn with the prior turn while stretching it slightly. It conformed to the bumpy surface of the vacuum hose, and I put two layers over both ends of the hose while my wife held the two ends together as they should be when repaired. This was tricky, and a couple times I had to peel back the E-Z Fuse Tape separating it from itself where I had misplaced it. I finished my second wrap and at the end stretched it only slightly as directed. Then I squeezed the repair up and down, happy to see it conform to the irregular surface of the vacuum hose. Our hose looked better, like one hose rather than two hose pieces. Then I waited 24 hours for it to fuse, as directed. The E-Z Fuse Tape had indeed fused to itself, and my vacuum hose looks repaired, back in one piece. I hope that the repair is permanent. The flexibility, stretching and fusing characteristics of E-Z Fuse Tape enabled me to make this difficult repair and save a vacuum hose that would cost $75 to replace. This tape works for repairs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The tape to have I had the opportunity to evaluate this great tape. Do not let the term tape fool you. It sticks and stays to itself even in wet situations. It stays flexible to -60 degrees and withstands up to 500 degrees fahrenheit. Amazing stuff - I repaired a leaky radiator hose in seconds and it saved me a tow.. I didn't intend to carry it around for such a purpose but I had it in my pocket to seek a good use for it. Hoses, plumbing, car hoses. almost any emergency that a tape can surround since it works best stuck to itself. it is a silicone type of material and will conform to most shapes. If you don't carry a roll of this in your toolbox the box is incomplete.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Silicone Tape This tape is a stretchy substance that melds to itself. The manufacturer claims that the bond is permanent, waterproof, airtight, non-conductive, and insulating and resists weathering, salt water and UV rays. When you stretch it thin and wrap it around something, the layers fuse together and it becomes like a band around the thing you've wrapped. The tape is separated by a layer of an ordinary plastic film. This separating film is wider than the actual E-Z Fuse Tape itself, to keep the tape effectively separated from the next layer. Follow the instructions and you will be amazed at how well this self-adhesive silicon material works at sealing leaks. To make it work as advertised, you need to wrap the tape around what you are trying to cover making sure each time around you are overlapping the previous layer and that you are stretching it to its maximum length. The overlapping is to get a complete cover and the stretching is what makes the layers stick together. Non-pressure applications require only a minor stretch and one layer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The REAL DEAL Have use on numerous applications for over 2 years. Forms a cohesive waterproof bond that will not loosen or degrade. Once the tapes overlapping layers have FUSED they are ONE. I needed to remove a section applied 2 years ago and gain access to copper AC pipes that receive daily moisture, COLD and condensation. The bond created has not allowed a single drop of leak or perspiration to leak through. It was SO FUSED that removing was a challenge even utilizing a razor blade cutter because once the blade penetrated there were NO 'layers' to then grip and peel away...it was indeed one solid substance. EVERY application I've used for has provided A+ results.
