This faux wood beam looks very realistic and has a beautiful rustic appearance. The patterns are very well done to give it the character of aged wood. Since it is constructed with polyurethane foam, it is very lightweight but I would have liked to have thicker and sturdier corners. It has two supports near the end of each side, but the foam is fragile.
This beam would be excellent on a ceiling, but since one of the corners are damaged, I have placed it outside to use as a decorative accent. It looks great and the cracks are difficult to see because of the design. (Repairs are simple on these beams. I repaired the cracks on the inside with construction adhesive for poly and filled in the cracks on the outside with a stainable exterior wood filler and walnut stain.) When the beam gets weathered, I plan on using an exterior stain on it.
I like that these beams are available in many sizes or a special size can be requested.

When I ordered this, I thought it would be a solid composite faux wood beam. It does look like a wonderful wood beam on three sides. The underside, however, is hollow. We couldn't use it for our original plans, so we have decided to use it to mark off a parking area. It would be great around a garden area, also.

I had the opportunity to test this beam. I can say it is the highest quality I have had. The ends are finished so an exposed end still looks just like real wood in those cases THIS IS DECORATIVE and is not structural. It is modeled after a real beam with no repetitive patterns. Easy to install and looks so good the rooms I do get compliments. Minimal construction time. If you wish, this is also paintable. Since this is a dense foam product I would suggest only interior use. I have used the scrap pieces to make seasonal outside planters. Home Depot has a great set of photos and video installation help. I tested the company with a call and found them very informed and helpful.
As a note please understand that this beam is a hollow foam product and takes helpful hands to instal. It is fragile until installed. Dings and marks can be filled with standard wood putty.

Measured out fairly accurately. This hollow beam has brown wood stain on 3 sides and the 2 ends, (indoor stain, I think. Doesn't stink.) It's open along one side lengthwise, kind of like a trough, and is vanilla colored along that side and on the inside. It is very light and easily carried around and lifted by one person, though would need a second to keep level if hanging or installing on a ceiling. My hands got a little of the brown stain on them while carrying, but washed off easily. I'm using this outside as part of a garden fence and the stain, so far has not worn off, even with heavy rains. It probably will eventually but will repaint with exterior stain when needed. It can hold a stain which is nice. You can order a plain one and make it any color you want. It looks like wood from a distance but doesn't feel like wood at all. So far rabbits and squirrels have left it alone. Had originally hoped to make a long bench with this but I don't think it's sturdy enough to support a heavy adult's weight. It is not board hard or stiff, rather it has some flex to it. The material is easily sawed and you can put screws, nails or even pushpins through it. It may not be able to handle hanging something as heavy as a metal light fixture from, but string lights, fish netting, paper lanterns should be no problem. This is fun stuff, has some limitations but definitely an object for creativity.
