Clearly for use with faux wood beams only. Tried them on a real wood 8" X 16" beam with poor results. The rubber strips have a significant wave at each of the rivet lines. The mastic would not adhere to dense umber very good, causing the strip to appear wavey. Also, I could not achieve a crisp 90 degree angle around the beam edges. All in all it looked janky. I think the mastic is suited for the pourous surface and rounded edges of the faux wood product.

the product that arrived was a true black, not a metal patina like pictured. I'm not sure if I got the wrong product or what. The other issue is it's tough to make this strap conform to sharp corners on a beam. You either have to clamp it and use a few nails to keep it tight around the corners while the glue sets up or live with gaps. The rubber is a bit thick so it wants to bend, not fold. Overall this is a good solution to hiding seams in faux beams. I would use it again in part because options are limited.

Kind of high priced for a strap of rubber, but we were pleased with the look of it after it was up.

I was skeptical about the look of this faux iron but having it in our home- I can tell you no one would know the difference if we hadn't told them. It looks real and is flexible which makes it easy to work with. Took a bit to figure out scoring it with a boxcutter didn't really work to cut it. Overall we are very happy!
