CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 49 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 1/4 HP Submersible Thermoplastic Utility Pump (Superior Pump) replaces 2 1.5 HP pool pumps! Tired to have to replace 2 expensive (over $400.00 each) 1.5 HP pool-pumps every 2 to 3 years, I decided to search for a less expensive solution and found it with the 1/4 HP Submersible Thermoplastic Utility Pump @ ~ $ 50.00. The requirement for the pump was to deliver at least 20 gallons per minute at a height of 5' above pumping level, which this pump actually exceeds by 2 gallons per minute. Our pool is equipped with a "disappearing edge" and has therefore an overflow basin, where I installed this pump. I eliminated the existing piping and installed a new line to the re-used pool-filter, which I removed from it's previous location and located near the sheet-flow waterfall which replenishes the pool from the overflow basin. The previous 1.5 HP pool pump delivered ~ 30 gpm, and was running 8 hrs a day, so it pumped 14,400 gallons/day. I have set the 1/4 HP submersible pump to run 10 hrs / day, in this timeframe it pumps 13,200 gallons/day, which is slightly less, but 100% sufficient so far to assure water replenishment and cleaning action at 1/6 of power consumption and 1/8 of the price of the pool pump. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by keeps my floor dry! Living in a flood zone in my mobile home can be difficult during the rainy season and once in a while the water seeps into my kitchen so I got this pump because it will take the water level right on down to the lid on my chewin tobacco can in a hurry and then I can just mop up the rest February 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome pump I am a kind of a sub pump connoisseur. I have used many,Many pumps over the years to water my indoor garden. this pump (for the money) beats them all! It sends a shower of water through my irrigation pvc into my hose & out my watering wand..it lifts the water 5' vertically & dispenses a nice, robust shower of water out my watering wand head. I've used other pumps that cost $50 or more that were not as good as this pump. Save yourself some headaches & just buy this pump, it's a steal at this price! June 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Great Little Pump I needed a simple strong small pump to empty an artificial duck pond that I built. The dimensions of the pond are 9'x4'x9". I simply put the pump into the pond and plug it in and walk away. Half an hour later it is empty. By accident one time I didn't screw on he hose right and the pressure of the pump pushed the hose aside and it projected water as in a fountain by over 8 feet high. Keep in mind that this is a small pump and good for small jobs. It would not suffice for a large swimming pool as it would be to slow but for the right job it is ideal. January 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Simple to use good pump I have only used it once to pump water out of an endless pool. Worked good. It took a moment to prime itself but once it started it pumped quickly. April 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked great out of the box If looking for a basic utility pump for moving water from a basement or even pumping rain water into garden from collection tubs, this product will work well. Easy to use and connects easily to standard garden hose. Just what I needed at a modest price. Much easier and faster than moving small amounts of water by bucket. July 24, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by solid pump Great pump for the price. Using to pump water to the garden. We are using a 100 foot 3/4" garden hose and a change of elevation of about 10'. The pump can handle it no problem. May 26, 2015
