I work in a sewer plant and grease / oil down the drain is a huge problem. Some towns have a means to accept used cooking oil, call your town or look on their web site to see if they have a solution. One other person suggested contacting a restaurant to see if you can put it in their recycling container (usually a small dumpster type container). As a last resort, freeze it so it is "solid" and put it out with your trash. I have permission from a banquet facility to pour mine into their recycling container then I throw the empty container in the trash. They sometimes have to pay to have it hauled away and sometimes they get paid, depending on the market, but they are required to keep it out of the sewer system. I pour the oil through cheesecloth and back into the container, freeze it, and I use it several times before I recycle it. Read Less

Answer:
Find a local mechanic that uses waste oil to heat their shop. I drop off all my used motor oil, turkey fryer oil, trans fluid, etc. to my mechanic. He has adapted his furnace to burn waste oil.

Answer:
Maybe post on Craiglist or your local Freecycling group. Maybe someone will take it to be processed as biodiesel. Or if you know someone in food service, they probably wouldn't mind to add it to their huge amount of oil to be picked up and recycled.
