I have been getting a odor out of one of my septic tank vents so I installed a P-trap but that kept running dry so I decided to try the Sure Vent Air Admittance valve. The installation was super easy-just like gluing PVC pipe together. First I sanded both surfaces of the pipe and valve, applied primer then used some good quality PVC cement (also available at Home Depot) and slipped it on. It has totally eliminated the odors that were escaping out of the vent pipe. the valve lets air enter the system but will not let the air escape which is what was giving me the terrible odor. I highly recommend this product if you are having unpleasant odors coming out of you vent pipes

I had a plumber move our laundry area from the basement to the main floor of our house. After he was paid and left I went to the basement and looked at what he had done. I was very disappointed with the work he had done. I know I should have checked before he was paid. All he did was cut the drain pipe from the kitchen sink and connected the drain for the washer into the 1 1/2 inch pipe. I'm not a plumber but I don't think the 1 1/2 inch drain would be sufficient to work correctly for a HE washer. There was a 2 inch drain pipe right below the area where he put the washing machine. I don't know why he didn't use it in the first place. I hooked the drain for the washer into the 2 inch drain pipe and then installed the 1 1/2 inch X 2 inch air admittance valve into the pipe that the plumber had the washer draining into. I used a 4 foot piece of PVC to raise the vent as high as I could. The washer drains the was it is designed and with the air admittance valve the is more than enough vent for the washer to drain as well as other fixtures to drain at the same time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for gurgle and drainage issues This is a great product for resolving suction issue that can end up letting sewer gas back into house. Used this in my kitchen where the old cast iron vent rusted in wall. This was a quick resolution for fixing a gurgling sound and slow drainage in kitchen sink. I would recommend to anyone who doesn't want to tear into existing walls to repair or install a vent stack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big help for installing utility sink in basement The air admittance valve makes it relatively easy to install a new sink in an existing structure by making it unnecessary to find or add a vent line. This unit is well made, and the instructions are clear and concise. It fits either a 1-1/2 inch or 2 inch drain pipe, which will cover most installations.

Negative pressure is very common with a Vessel sink and this should be installed with every one. Without it your sink, even brand new, will drain very slowly, and if it starts to get build up after months of use it will begin to get even slower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performed as advertised!! The vent was very easy to install even under the sink where it was needed. I was skeptical at first if the vent would fix the drain problem I was having, but after the installation the problem was gone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great so Far My sink would gargle when trying to drain large volumes of water. Based on how the plumbing was originally installed, the air vent is too far away from the trap, creating the vacuum. This solved the problem and has been working great so far. Although the actual price to manufacture this product is far lower than the sale price, I still gave it an excellent value because I compared the price of this to the price of breaking into my walls to fix the air vent problem. Great product and easy to install!
