From the manufacturer's literature:
Sure-Vent® AAV are intended for installation in the
confines of a structure, cannot be exposed to outside
elements and are intended for use between -40° F and
150° F. AAVs must be accessible for inspection and

To fix it, simply poor a pint to a quart of water down the floor drain every 3 months or so. Read Less

Answer:
I would only use on a sink. If your going to use it for the toilet and sink I would go with the next size up, it would fit on a 3" and 4" with the adapter.

Answer:
Probably not. If your slow drain makes a gurgling sound, like when you dump bottled water upside down, then yes, it could be your drain needs an air vent. But if it simply drains slowly, then it's probably just plain clogged.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sure-Vent I gave the rating on value average because it was a small plastic piece that was overpriced for the amount of materials it contained and that it was made in China for peanuts. I don’t know the quality since it was just purchased and I don’t know how long it will last. It was very easy to install especially since it was only the top piece that needed to be replaced. The old piece was simply unscrewed and the new replacement piece screwed back on. January 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Big help for installing utility sink in basement The air admittance valve makes it relatively easy to install a new sink in an existing structure by making it unnecessary to find or add a vent line. This unit is well made, and the instructions are clear and concise. It fits either a 1-1/2 inch or 2 inch drain pipe, which will cover most installations. March 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works as intended Served its intended purpose. However, screwing valve onto adapter can only be done by hand as there are no flat faces for a wrench. October 15, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Sure Vent The vent still seems to allow sewer smell back into the under-sink space. August 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for gurgle and drainage issues This is a great product for resolving suction issue that can end up letting sewer gas back into house. Used this in my kitchen where the old cast iron vent rusted in wall. This was a quick resolution for fixing a gurgling sound and slow drainage in kitchen sink. I would recommend to anyone who doesn't want to tear into existing walls to repair or install a vent stack. April 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Performed as advertised!! The vent was very easy to install even under the sink where it was needed. I was skeptical at first if the vent would fix the drain problem I was having, but after the installation the problem was gone. November 4, 2014
