Are the holes for faucet /tub spout pre- cut or do I cut my own ? Is there a nailing flange down the sides of any panels ? Would add studs if needed to attach securely.
Asked by: javajack
Hi, no there are no pre-cut holes as everyone's plumbing hardware fixtures are at different heights and locations. You need to cut these on your own. You better have very good measuring skills because if you get this wrong, you would need to buy a whole new unit--not just that one panel. Yes, there are nailing flanges on the panels. I hope this helps.

Can this tub surround be trimmed to fit a width of 56.5 inches instead of the 60 inches?

Asked by: belle
No. The way the long panel curves you wouldn't be able to trim the length.

For the most part, this is a good product that was fairly easy to assemble—unless you already have drywall in the shower/tub area. In this event, the drywall needs to be removed as this unit is measured stud-to-stud—not wall-to-wall. I feel that the 2 side pieces and the back piece could have fit together a bit more uniformly. Caulking afterwards did tend to correct the problem. Because of the 2 sets of shelves on each of the side panels, be sure that your behind the wall plumbing piping and fixtures are of the proper height for the right side panel; otherwise, they will bump into the shelving. It was necessary for the plumber to un-weld everything, cut the piping, and re-weld everything so the faucet mechanism fell within the lower right shelf. I actually like the way this turned out, even though it was a pain. The material seems very solid and durable and easy to clean.

Arrived in perfect condition a few days ahead of estimate. Seeing that I was installing the unit in an old bathroom with cast iron tub it went fairly well. The side wall sat well on the tub rim but the ends of the tub and studs were neither level nor square. Had to use hacksaw blade to trim bottoms of end panels so they would lock in place and the joints would seal with the long panel. I shimmed some of the old studs to get everything plumb . There are only two seams and where they lock together minimizes potential for leaks. If I had been installing this with the tub it was designed for it would have been a piece of cake. Panels are very sturdy and that made the job a lot easier .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very satisfied customer... This item is a special order product. It cannot be purchased at the store. So I orderd this item online and hoped that when it arrived, it would be exactly as pictured on the webpage. It was delivered sooner than I'd expected and when I inspected it, I was happy to see that it was even better than I had hoped it would be. I was only plannng to replace the bath walls since the tub was in good shape. However, I was so happy with this product that I went online and order the matching tub. It was delivered in less than 5 days and it's nice. I am very satisfied with this Home Depot online purchase and it was so easy to order these items online. Thanks Home Depot!!! TONY

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product I researched many different types of tubs & wall surrounds and decided on this one. I was very happy with the quality. It was very sturdy and packed securely to avoid shipping damage. Once the wall studs were prepared, the install was a breeze. Everything lined up and went together perfectly. I've been using it for about a month now, and I'm very happy with the product.
