Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Maji very good quality shower pan - worth the extra $$$
Purchased to replace 20+ year old pan. My plumber was very pleased with the new pan and had no difficulty installing it. This was installed in a second floor bathroom and plumber did not need to go through the first floor ceiling to install. The new pan is very sturdy, gleaming white and has a raised non slip pattern. Very easy to clean.

I was very pleased with the shower base. I did not know the drain was going to be included. That made the job even easier and cheaper. Seems like very good quality for the money. Fit perfect. Everything went well. No surprises.

This shower pan was purchased to replace an existing shower pan. The new pan arrived fairly quickly and installation was straight forward. I elected to install the pan on a mortar bed to insure there was no flexure which might ultimately lead to premature failure of the pan. I used thin set mortar and followed the recommendation in the instructions which came with the pan. The mortar was mixed a bit stiff and applied with a trowel to a thickness of about half an inch which tapered to a quarter of an inch near the pan. I used a marker to outline the pan on the subfloor to use as a guide for where to place the mortar. You only need to place mortar where the pan will actually contact the subfloor and you want to keep the mortar away from the drain if your subfloor comes right up to the drain--which mine did not. After setting the pan in place and aligning it with shims that I had stapled to the studs, I allowed it to sit overnight without disturbing it. The tricky part is to make sure the pan is completely orthogonal to the shower walls and spaced the correct distance so that the hardibacker boards will just overlap the lip of the shower pan. That required shimming the wall studs to make sure they were plumb vertically and all in alignment horizontally. Installing the drain gasket was a bit tricky as it is a very tight fit. I had to use a small piece of soft wood and a hammer to fully seat the gasket after it was covered with liquid dish detergent which acts as a lubricant to aid installation. Overall, a good looking solid pan. The pebbled finish on the pan floor looks fine and will definitely provide a non slip surface.

It's just a basic shower pan but so far we are happy with it. It drains well and came with a white drain cover which we were not expecting but glad about.

Easy to install. Works well. I like the texture pattern under my feet. They look like little pebbles. The drain was easy to install. It was perfect for our small bathroom

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Stella Nice - have question
In the instructions it says to put the moisture resistant wall board 1/2" above flange. Are they talking about the green wall board and then install crete board over the top of that or are they talking about just putting the crete board 1/2" above the flange and then tiling the first row right onto the flange/crete board? Thank you.

Like the reinforcement ribbing which will also lock into the mud base.
