Customer Questions & Answers

What shower "surround walls" goes with this product?

What shower "surround walls" work with this Swanstone 34 in. x 60 in. Solid Surface Single Threshold Shower Floor in Bisque? [If Home Depot should chime in, why aren't there complimentary product suggestions, such as the surround shower walls, that can be clicked on so the bisque in this product will match the "bisque" in a shower surround wall?]. Thanks all for any help. Michelle

Swan does offer a variety of shower walls to fit the SS-3460 shower floor in Bisque. Unfortunately, these do not currently appear on You should be able to special order any of the following models through your local Home Depot store. Models SK366072.018 or SK366096.018 both include flat solid Bisque wall panels with corner soap dishes and corner molding. STMK723662.018 or STMK963662.018 have a subway tile pattern molded into the panels and include corner soap dishes. SQMK723662.018 or SQMK963662.018 have a 12" tile pattern molded into the panels and include corner soap dishes. The 72 or 96 in the part numbers indicates the height of the wall panels. Swan allows extra material to allow for out-of-plumb walls. These kits are all 36"D x 62"W and will require trimming to fit. Walls panels can be trimmed to fit the 34" x 60" floor dimension using a circular saw with a fine tooth carbide blade (60-80 teeth). The Subway and Square tile kits in White do appear online should you want to look at those for reference. Simply change the .018 (Bisque) to .010 (White) in the part numbers.

34 in. x 60 in. Solid Surface Single Threshold Shower Floor in Bisque is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great middle-of-the-road shower base Original shower pan stress split at the drain hole because the builder left a large concrete void around the drain pipe (weight from standing in middle of shower caused crack). They also didn't add any mortar under the base, so it flexed and "popped" when we walked around on it. Horrible!! I did a ton of research on shower bases and found this one to be a drop in replacement of the best quality. The old drain pipe didn't line up with the new so I had to dig out the P-trap, cut it off and glue in a new one to the proper dimensions. I then backfilled the dirt to about 4" below the cement slab and topped it off with concrete using a homemade 6" cardboard form around the drain pipe. Once cured, I spread in a layer of thinset as the instructions specified and dropped the base in. The next day, the shower floor was rock solid! Make sure you dry fit the base before setting it in mortar. The old base was slightly smaller in width and depth, so the new one required some wood trimming where the flange touched the studs. Used a sharpie marker to mark the "high spots" then a mini-router and mortising bit to adjust the depth and width by about 1/8". This provided enough room for the base's flange to have a bit of breathing room against the studs' high spots (you can see the sloppy stud cuts above the flange in the photo). With the concrete now filled in to the center of the drain and mortar underneath, this thing should last forever. It's not the most beautiful shower base but if you're looking for function over form at a decent price, I believe this is the way to go. I also love the molded-in drain recess with rubber ring seal. There's no way this thing is going to leak and if the rubber wears out, I can remove the old and press a new one in. Traditional drain flanges cannot be replaced without lifting the pan up to get to the nut underneath. Home Depot's ship-to-store price was the best I could find. Bone, White and Bisque are the lower cost models. Tons of colors are available at a premium of about $200 more than these three. Once the tile is up and door back on, it sure will be nice to have 2 working showers in the house again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just right for the job This shower floor matched our needs and our contractor had no problem installing. Leveling the floor in our condo unit was the larger part of the job. Wish we could have found the same unit with some visual sign of slope, don't know how this will work over time... hate to have puddles not draining properly... a pet peeve!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Looking, Well Made! I was worried about purchasing the shower base sight unseen, however it was securely packaged and drop shipped to HD. It looks great! We are still in the process of finishing the shower. The installation of the base was easy, with the help of the instructions on your website. My husband did a rough installation since we removed an old garden tub and are replacing it with a walk in shower. Our next job is installation of the tile. Then I will be back to order a Glass Shower Door. Thanks HD for ease of ordering!
