Disappointed in the quality of this unit based on the price I paid. I followed the instructions using a mortar foundation and I expected a solid unit. However it creaks when you enter the shower from the plastic material deflecting. Should have gone with a cast iron base instead.

swanstone 34 x 60 base was great. The quality is top shelf.
I had the fiberglass shower replaced using the swanstone base and tiles the walls.
I had a mortar base for added support. It worked out beautifully.
I like the higher curb compared to others.

I shopped for a shower pan at several locations and found this one to be of high quality at a good price. The shipping was free and I was able to pick it up at my local home depot.
I was impressed by sturdiness of this product. The base is solid and does not creak when in use. Additionally, the bottom of the pan is ribbed so I was able to install the pan directly on the sub-floor without need to install mortar first. As this was my first shower renovation, this helped make the installation much more straightforward.
I had no complaints of this product.

Very sturdy shower pan. Not flimsy like the ones in the store. Very easy to install.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by MJ Not the best but OK
I Have build several showers and this base has been my least favorite. Kohler has been the easiest to install but dreamline is ok.
This shower base was light weight but difficult to install. You have to set in in a bed of thinset that is level and preferably higher in the 4 corners. I read up about this and most say to put piles or spaces so there is room to squish the mortar out and level without bumps. Not easy for a DIY guy but it certainly makes for a firm base without any movement or noise. The big problem for me was the drain. It has a slip fitting not the standard shower base fitting. You simply press in the rubber washer around your 2" PVC pipe which has to be perfectly centered and cut to the proper length. I have read these are prone to failure compared to the other types. Time will tell. The drain cover is cheap white plastic as others have described but could be replaced with a metal one if desired. Overall I would probably go for a cheaper better quality base like the Dreamline or Kohler if doing it again. Still I got it installed without any problems just had to take my time.

The shower pan came with small scratch on the surface and the standing surface has an approx. 3" lump near the drain hole. In the process of returning the item to Home Depot, I asked for the online order toll free number so I can reorder a different pan, since I had this item ordered online. One of the associate raised her voice "We Don't Give Out Those Number." The whole experience was less than satisfaction. Ended up getting the shower pan at efaucet.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Photoguy1001 Picture not accurate
The photo shows a nickel colored drain strainer, but the pan comes with a white plastic strainer. The pan is great, the strainer looks cheap, and I'll probably replace. Having the pan supplied with a strainer was thought to be a plus; it's not reasonable to have inaccurate photos for an item that is only available on-line and costs as much as this does.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Scott Swan not swanstone
Although the product codes matched the real solid surface swanstone, the actual product is a hard acrylic surface. Aline your drain, level your pan with shims and spread a nice layer of mortor to secure the pan. It came out beautiful! Very solid, no creaking, no shifting. Install exactly as the instruction read. I caution anyone buying this pan not to shortcut the mortor base. It will seem cheap and flimsy if you shortcut or let your installer shortcut.
