it gets two stars because it didn't arrive damaged. but I am not sure how long this tub will last or how well it will resist scratches or how loud the water hitting the tub will sound when you shower...but it's very plastic...like recycle plastic from pet bottles. it feels really cheap. I am debating if I should return this and just spend the money for a cast iron or just hope for the best. I wonder how come other reviewers didn't mention the very plastic feel to the tub...

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Seawitch12 Nice Big Bathtub
We really like the size of this tub - it is deeper and larger soaking room than most 60" x 30" tubs. Not much room for shampoo in the corners like most tubs. Nice and light so getting it in place was easy. Installation instructions are somewhat lacking - calls for a mortar bed but does not specify how much. Called Swanstone customer Service and the operator told us 1-1/2" under the grid - they obviously get that question a lot! The plastic cover that is to be kept in the tub during construction is a bit large, got in the way and often allowed debris to get under it - keep cleaning under it so you don't scratch the surface. Otherwise, we love the tub!!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Almostbob Good tub a bit too small for my size.
I specifically got it because I read that it takes more water. I assumed that it means that there is more space in it. However in reality it is just deep but narrow, so it takes more water to fill it but it doesn't give any more room.

I am very pleased with the tub. I also got the matching surround. Really, the hardest part was getting the old cast iron out and prep of the space for new fixtures. Instructions were excellent. After install, it feels so solid – almost like the old iron one. It took two of us to drop into place over a bed of mortar. Put it on very level surface so no shims needed. I just had to shim between tub and studs. This was the 2nd tub I have installed and the easier of the two. I really like the surround with it. Really can’t leak the way it is designed -- just locks into place.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Troubles I would not buy it on line
I ordered on line and picked it up at the store. There was no damage to the shipping box on the outside, but when I went to install it, I opened the box, the one corner bracket for the front skirt was bent and the other two brackets were torn of the bottom of the tub. There was a broken piece of pallet board 1foot long in the box. A replacement would take 10 to 14 days.. I bought a different tub from the store. My advice is if you order this tub receive it and inspect it before you start the remodel.

I'm really disappointed with this tub. The surface is really difficult to clean, it is not a high gloss surface like the other plastic-based tub we have, and you have to really scrub it. It also has that no slip surface on the bottom that really collects dirt over time. The lines are not as clean/modern as I hoped. And once the tile was up there is almost no room around the edge of the tub, not even enough to set a baby toy. It's in and there to stay, so it will do, but I would definitely not use this type again.

Initially I saw that both sides of the flanges were broken and cracked. Still usable somewhat but then notced cracks in the tub body itself. Waiting for shipping co to come pick it back up. Not woth the time and hassle.
