Does this system use the router that you currently have in your home? The person who is attempting to break into my home knows the IP address to the Router, I have changed the passwords 2 times. My fear is that he will hack the system.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent... When purchasing this unit, keep your receipt and be prepared to call Swann for replacement cameras. This is my second Swann surveillance system purchase and both have arrived with defective cameras. This one also has a malfunctioning LED on the NVR itself. Though, it's fairly painless getting replacements sent out, it would be nice to get a 100% functioning system right out of the box. I recommend doing as I did...Connect everything and run the system for a few days before installing to see which part of your system will need replacing All that being said, the picture quality is nice compared to the analog system I had previously. The mobile app for remote viewing is unreliable but usually works. I've had to reboot the system a few times when I come home and the screen is only displaying "failed to connect" and nothing is being recorded. Hopefully this doesn't happen during an actual crime when I'll need it most. I thought the power over ethernet would be nice but the wires coming out of the camera require close to a 1" hole to feed through your home/office. It's a bulky connection. My previous analog system had more connections but only required about a 1/2" hole...not a big deal, just something to note if you like a clean install. Overall, I don't think I'd recommend this system at it's price point. I've found them online for about $450 and that seems a little more fair for what you're getting... A surveillance system should give you peace of mind while you're away from your home, but this unit has just been too unreliable to provide that. May 12, 2015
