Will this transmit from back yard to front?

My back neighbors have moles which keep getting into my yard and causing my dog to dig. I was thinking about one of these in the farthest corner of my back yard - BUT I do not want to run off the chipmunks that live in the front yard. What is the range on this with obstructions? There would be a paved driveway and 1300 sqft brick house with basement to go through. In addition to the yard space.

It makes the beeping transmitting sounds. But I've had moles tunnel inches away from the spike .It seems as if they love to eat while the beat goes on. Save your money.

Does this mole solar spike work in the winter time? Live in Minnesota where it gets really cold and possibly get lots of snow. Thank you!

Have moles that are wrecking my yard.
Asked by: MoleHater
If you have one that is working, I would remove it from the ground and put it in a dry warm place. The cold will zap a spike. Of course the moles work more in the warmer parts of the month, but I would store the unit and turn it off in the colder weather.

Is there a battery for the solar powered unit? If so how is it changed?

I have one and it has stopped working?
Asked by: Jazej53
The answer, per solar unit, is no. You don't know if it is working or not, that is the main thing I have against it. My units are not working because they seem to have a headway on messing up my lawn! It's as though they like it because they are digging more and I think I have one more than I had when I bought the spike.

Mole and Gopher Solar Spike is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 59.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't work for us The product said to give it 2 weeks to work, and by the second week, the voles were dancing around the spikes, didn't bother them or repel them at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gopher deterant Seems to work good unless you put it into an existing hole where the dirt isn't tightly against the sides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solar mole spikes I live in Louisville Kentucky. I built my home in May 2016. Every morning I was dealing with new mole tunnels. Became a daily ritual of stomping them all back down. Out of desperation I was willing to try anything. I went to the internet and began searching. I came across these spikes. For $45 it was worth trying in my opinion. They arrived within a day. I layer them in the sun for a day before installing them. They have been in he ground for about two weeks. I have not had any new tunnels since installing the spikes. Seems to be working. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I never heard a sound coming out of either one of them. This is in southern California where we have lots of sun. I called the company and was told it should take five days to charge. Too long. Nothing happened in a full week. I returned them and got another brand. On the instructions it said to charge it for 2 days in the OFF position, and then turn on., That worked. It did NOT say that on your instructions and it was too late to try because I had already taken them back. So maybe your product does work if it gets charged in the OFF position. But you need to put that in your instructions. And your customer service people need to be informed. 5 days is too long to wait for a charge, not with bright sunny days!

The product is either taking its time to get the moles to leave or I need another one that works. What I have against this unit is that it doesn't tell when or if you need a new battery. That is all but giving that it has had 2-3 weeks to make an impact on the moles, I can't tell it has made a difference, they have not gone and they are still digging.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sonically rid moles We moved to a new house surrounded on 2 sides by woods/natural area. We have had mole tunnels all through the yard. Bought and installed the Sweeney's Solar powered spikes and after one week have seen significant improvement, so bought 3 more to cover the rest of yard. Hopefully the victory will continue as well as it has started. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lasted only a few months, battery not replaceable, $25.00 thrown away I had this in south sun at all times, so it was charged, lasted maybe 2-1/2 months, battery is not replaceable, very unhappy, it might of worked for the moles because they just started in my yard, but I will never know, the person who mows my lawn said it hasn't been working and didn't tell me.the price is to high for a throw away model
