Customer Questions & Answers

May I know what variety is this? Fo I need to buy 2 of them to cross pollinate? Do you send two different varieties?

Asked by: Gardenlover
I'm curious too. For $10 a plant, it'd be nice to know. BTW I hear Turcidus from Germany has the best flavor. Also Crimson Star is good and may be more available stateside.

Can I grow ths in pot or they have to be inground planted to produce fruit?

Asked by: Miro
If you grow in a container the roots allegedly will stop growing when they reach the pot sides and then it can put its' energy into producing fruit sooner than if you put in the ground. My source says one can get fruit in the first or second year that way when usually it takes 3 years. Home Depot's plant appears to be only 1 year old so it is possible to get fruit the year you containerize it. Recommended pot size is 5 (five) gallons minimum though. However I have grown my young plants in smaller pots about 3 (three) gal.

I received my goji berry bush on October 12th in relatively poor condition. When it arrived there was dirt spilt all over the interior of the packaging, as expected so I wasn't concerned. There were only about 6-8 leaves on the plant when it arrived and within the first week it dropped almost all of them (I was concerned). I transplanted into a bigger pot with ph-adjusted soil, adjusted the temperature and humidity of the room, and gave the plant 12-14 hours of light a day and regular watering. Despite my best efforts the goji berry bush has officially kicked the bucket (it is now Dec 1st). I've never had such trouble with any plant before. To conclude, I received the plant when it clearly was in poor health. After 2 months (October & November) of intensive care the plant never continued to die until it was nothing but dry twigs sticking out of the soil. Very disappointed, was expecting and hoping for a better quality plant to begin with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Goji Berry Plant After reading so many bad reviews from the major nursery places and only seeing good ones for here I decided on Home Depot for this plant. It arrived when expected in very good condition. Was already starting to get leaves on it. It's doing very well, has a lot of new leafs and it growing fast. Would definitely recommend ordering plants from Home Depot.

I planted instantly and they were stagnant all year. We had a fairly mild winter zone 6A and neither plant survived. I'm out the $30. I am a very experienced gardener and did it by the book. Only thing is I planted early summer. Maybe if I received in spring It would have survived.

I thought maybe it was dormant, so I planted it and took care of it daily. It NEVER came alive, even after two months. Home Depot sent me a dead stick stuck in dirt. VERY unhappy. Home Depot is sending dead plants! Do NOT but this.
