I am an avid DIY'er and researcher so I was nervous when reading other reviews on how many hours this would take. I can safely assure at least 10+ hours will be spent. I had previously built another play set so I knew what I would be in store for. I also had two other friends helping me, which I highly recommend making sure you have an extra set of hands available.
Some frustrations... You must open up other boxes while building the main section which can be annoying because it keeps taking more time having to figure out which box to get the next part from. I suggest taping the parts list to each box so you can easily keep track of what was used and what you have left.
There are several screws that are the same length and look the same so it is frustrating trying to figure out which ones the directions want you to use.
The unit is very sturdy and I had no problems feeling safe while my children play on it.
I was missing one monkey bar and am waiting on receiving the replace, ent from the mfr.

We have it (assembled) for about 3 weeks now and we are still in love!!! Material is of good quality and shipping exceeded our expectations. It was a lot of work putting it together but the manual are pretty reasonable. Took from my husband and I about 24h of work over the course of a week and a half, but of couse you can do it in less if you have the time! We had about 7 kids over at once and they all had a great time!

Purchased the Cedar Brook from homedepot for our 3 year old twins third birthday. Home Depot had the fastest shipping date and best price. Item came on time and all the pieces were there. Took about 14 hours to put together by myself. Would say I'm a fairly experienced diy type of dad. Kids love it. It's strong enough to hold a two hundred pound adult and two small kids easily. My only concern is how long it will last. The wood seems light and flimsy but once it's all together it feels sturdy. Looks great in our yard too. Would buy again.

Instructions are decent, but the packaging is a nightmare. You'll end up opening 4 boxes of parts before coming close to finishing the 1st box, then you'll have a TON of hardware leftover. It would be nice if they could simplify things and use 3 or 4 different screw lengths rather than 15-20. I replaced the hardware for the slide with longer bolts and larger washers to prevent the plastic from pulling through, and had to modify the support design for the slide. The wood splinters pretty easily, and we've only had it up for about 2 months. Hopefully it'll make it through a year before we need to sand and restain. The main beam for the monkey bars is split all the way down the middle, so I definitely think it'll need to be replaced.
Overall, it's a nice playset and the kids love it. I really don't think it'll last 10 years though.
