Customer Questions & Answers

Does it come with one slide or two?

Asked by: Chema
It does not come with a slide.. only the pieces you see in the description - brackets, etc. You do get 2 swings, a few climbing rocks, handles and the tarp which are really nice. You need to just add the additional pieces you want. It depends on which version you build as to whether you want the wave slide (4' high hole) or the curve slide (5' high hole).

Cut-list estimate

Does anyone have an estimate on the price of wood for the cut list?
Asked by: Builder5678
I think I paid around $200 for the wood and then I added the slide, another swing, more climbing rocks and a cargo net (we didn't do the ladder). All in I would guess just under $1,000 total

Do you have it on the store

Asked by: Ali
It was not found in our store, but came really nicely in a box as a kit

Can one of the swings be upgraded to a two person, back to back glider? Have also seen it called a tandem swing. Thanks.

Asking for the Kodiak set, but if it's an upgrade for any set, would like to know as we're also looking at the Wrangler set.
Asked by: Meg
No.. the kit is the kit. You can add additional pieces. There is room for 3 items between the fort and the A frame and then another item outside the A frame. So you have 4 place holders and they include 2 swings to use.. then you can purchase another 2 items to put in the frame as it is before needing to build out more.

My son and his friends, I believed, enjoyed being able to put it together from the plans and watch it become a reality. It took ALOT longer than the projected number of hours but we are extremely happy with how sturdy it is. Felt like they have a $4,000 playset for about $1,000 (wood and kit). We did the more involved one and the slide that is in the picture did not fit that one. The more involved version (510) is higher and we needed the curve slide as the opening is 5' off the ground instead of 4'. We also did not do the ladder and put the climbing wall in that spot with a cargo net off the even higher end in the back. Have 3 boys and really needed 3 swings - they were so excited when the 3rd swing went in. NO PARK ever has 3 swings together!!! Could not be more pleased with how we could customize it to what we needed and to be so sturdy. Thank you!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Playset! A great playset for the kids!!! One of the most sturdy playgrounds I've seen. Instruction were very clear. It took 2 people about 2 full days to cut lumber and assemble it. We decided not to leave the bottom area open for a sandbox and purchased extra lumber to make another play deck down there. After purchasing kit, lumber and accessories, I think we finished the project at around $900. A similar playset from a playground company would have cost at least $2000. I definately recommend this set to anyone that is familiar with tools, your kids will love it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Problems with the Hardware The plans were good and well illustrated. The time to build is way under estimated. The biggest problem is that the hardware begins to rust after 1 season. The rock wall hardware in particular was almost rusted out in 1 year. Had to replace the connectors with stainless steel to prevent the problem. The connectors on the main structure have had to be repainted after 1 year as well. If you buy this set, give the connectors another coat of paint and toss the rock wall connectors and buy replacements. Set is not designed for Louisiana rain fall. Also, install rocks on the rock wall with the hole in the rock pointed down, otherwise it fills with water and adds to the rust issue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good solid item, but don't expect it built in the 5-10 hours they say The entire reason I bought this kit was so I could upgrade the wood holding it all up and also so it will last a while. The complete kits sold are mostly made entirely by 1x's. The "rapid-lock" brackets weren't near as well built as I expected. First, they were all supposed to be alike and we found stamping errors where the TOP wasn't really the top, due to how it interlocked with its matching bracket. Also, the instructions were okay but it left out certain details. If you aren't an avid builder it will be trickier. Overall this took 40-45 man hours in total. I had several guys help me over the span of 3 days. Happy with the finished product but it took more work than a simple pre-built kit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My second kit, It doesn't contain everything you need to put together This was my second kit I've brought from HD. The first one was purchased about 7 years ago and had everything I needed. This kit (same manufacturer) said it had everything you needed but that isn't true. After opening the box and starting the assembly I found that the kit does not include the 2 1/2", 2" or 1 1/2" wood screws (purchase separately). This was not the case in the first kit i purchased which had more then enough. I had to stop everything and run to the store to get over $40 worth of screws (two trips). It would be nice if they tell you upfront or just include them and raise the price. The first kit was about the same price (had everything). Also, some of the instructions were misleading. It took a lot longer to assemble so plan 2 days. Otherwise the boys love it and it looks great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Make sure you count all the pieces before you start. It's a good thing we bought this several weeks before we planned to put it together and did a quick count of all the parts. We had to call their customer service dept and have them ship us several missing items, which they sent us within a weeks time. Their customer service group was very professional and they were able to send us the missing parts with no issues. We did the optional ladder and on assembly day realized the kit contained 5 right brackets and 3 left brackets instead of 4 each. My husband was able to make it work with a little creativity. The quality of the product is great and the finished product is very sturdy and looks great. I would recommend that the kit manufacturer do a another QC of the parts before the kits are shipped to the retailers. The finished product is nice and my son loves it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Hardware Kit This is a great kit, you will need some skill putting it all together. The kit came with several instruction books, be careful to pick the one for the kit you are building, don't ask me how I know. The instructions say 4 to 6 hours to build. IF you have 6 very skilled people that time could be met. So far it has taken 2 1/2 day for 2 people and we still have another day left. Other than that it is going to be great for the grand kids, it is solid.
