Perfect kit for us. Our kids love to swing, but had outgrown some of the "fort" sets. This one was affordable and functional. It came with 2 swings, a ring-bar combo, brackets and such. We probably added $200 in lumber--although we ended up with 3# of 2.5" screws (What were those for?). I cut the lumber in an hour. Full assembly took ~3hrs, but we have combined building experience. We already had a slide to add and we bought the net that goes on the end. Kids, 6 & 9 yrs love it. Simple and solid. **Not sure about the directions, but if you attach the A frame to the beam while it's on the ground, then lift it onto the platform assembly A-frames, it will save a lot of effort.** This thing is heavy. Know where you want it.

We had bought a cedar swing set - that we had to put together several years ago and then moved - leaving it behind.:( . We wanted something sturdier and not quite as big for the backyard we now have. This kit was perfect. Not to big - not to small. My daughter and I completed this project in a day. After I purchased the wood (including the 16 foot beam) we gathered all the tools from the plans list and preceded to follow the plans step by step. My grand kids love it and I would definitely recommend it.

If you are a carpenter its a half day job (I am). Directions a little confusing but not too bad. Can't beat the price. FYI. The sets you see with wood are redwood (straight grain, no knots, no splintering) I built with pt pine which is fine but you need to check for splintering when the wood dries for a few weeks and probably stain/seal your wood and sand as needed. Still a lot cheaper in the long run. Hardware will last longer than my kids need it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Grandpa Great swingset for the money!
It's a breeze to put this together. I only needed help a couple of times such as when I was lifting the beam into place. Follow the directions carefully and you won't have any issues. One thing that made it easier for me was measuring the spaces between bolt locations after the platform was built and before drilling the beam. Be sure to drill from the bottom of the beam. Great product great value. Put this exact swing set together for my kids 25 years ago and now for my grandkids.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by raisinron Play Set in a Kit is an Idea that works!
The play set includes all the hardware needed to assemble the unit except for the deck screws needed to put it together. I ended up substituting composite decking for the 2x6 Pressure Treated wood for the platform section (pressure treated wood can get slippery if wet); as a result I rearranged the lumber order to minimize the amount of scrap pieces left over. Working with my son, I put the kit together in less than five hours, and my granddaughter was swinging on it even before we finished assembly! The plan includes ground stakes to put on the four corners, and I don't think the stakes at the base of the platform are really needed (the finished unit is pretty heavy!).. Kit comes with two swings and one set of rings. Likely to add a slide (soon) and a cargo net (later).

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Icouldbewrong GREAT DIYer's play set!
This set was extremely simple to assemble. Could have been a one-man project but it definitely takes two to set the 4"x6"x16' beam into place. The cut sheet and layout illustrations were spot on and most helpful. Just keep in mind this is a homeowner quality product, not a commercial play set. That being said, there is a little lateral sway - it would be helpful to install a diagonal brace (I put ours under the slide platform.)
Also, not all hardware is included. You'll need approximately 5# of exterior rated wood screws (2 1/2" and 3" lengths) to complete the assembly.
One more note - if giving as a gift, give other presents first! My grand-daughter didn't even notice the brand new, super cool, bicycle her parents bought for her! :/
