The play set includes all the hardware needed to assemble the unit except for the deck screws needed to put it together. I ended up substituting composite decking for the 2x6 Pressure Treated wood for the platform section (pressure treated wood can get slippery if wet); as a result I rearranged the lumber order to minimize the amount of scrap pieces left over. Working with my son, I put the kit together in less than five hours, and my granddaughter was swinging on it even before we finished assembly! The plan includes ground stakes to put on the four corners, and I don't think the stakes at the base of the platform are really needed (the finished unit is pretty heavy!).. Kit comes with two swings and one set of rings. Likely to add a slide (soon) and a cargo net (later).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Grandpa Great swingset for the money!
It's a breeze to put this together. I only needed help a couple of times such as when I was lifting the beam into place. Follow the directions carefully and you won't have any issues. One thing that made it easier for me was measuring the spaces between bolt locations after the platform was built and before drilling the beam. Be sure to drill from the bottom of the beam. Great product great value. Put this exact swing set together for my kids 25 years ago and now for my grandkids.

My husband and I have been working on this swing set for the past day and a half. It is going very smoothly and the hardware contained in this kit is very high quality. The directions are pretty clear and we even changed some minor things without a glitch.
There are a few things that I wish I'd known before we bought this that I thought I'd share. First of all, this kit includes the "swing set" hardware only--the brackets, swing hangers, and swings. It does not include all of the screws that you will need to assemble the entire set. Second, the top beam of this set is a 4x6x16. This beam is a bit hard to come by (and transport!), so I wish I'd known in advance. Third, the set is made primarily out of 4x4x8's for the three A-frames, and 2x6's for the rails, rungs, and deck. The wood for this set was close to 100.00 and just the screws were an additional 40.00. Brackets for the front and back of the set, which I think are necessary, are another 40.00. I'm glad I got them. The slide, also, is an additional charge and adds on another 85.00 on the low end.
This set is really, really, heavy and even with my help, we needed two extra guys to get the header on top. I would HIGHLY recommend this kit and just wanted to provide some important information for anyone else getting ready to put one together. If you think about the process in advance and plan it out before you start, you shouldn't have any problems. I love this set and can't wait to have every bit of it done.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rickz Good starter swing set hardware
Since this item only includes the hardware, its a bargain compared to purchasing all the individual hardware pieces separately. It also includes the carriage bolts for the structural corner brackets, but not any of the 3+ pounds of wood screws for assembling the entire set. The swing seats are not rigid, more like slings, but adequate to support an adult's weight. Chains are all vinyl coated and good quality. I was slightly dissapointed that there are no diagonal brackets to prevent the entire set from racking sideways that are contained on other sets I looked at. Overall the material quality is good and all made in the USA....

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by biggs Great Product!!
I bought this kit to build a swing set for my 9month old and nieces. After buying the kit, lumber and slide, i have $320 invested in this set. Set is surprisingly sturdy and way cheaper than buying one of those expensive swing set kits. It took me about 6 hours to put this together due to my drill batteries kept dying on me. Using a corded drill to drill all the holes through the beam, would make this go faster. Also need at leat a 7" 5/16"drill bit to drill through the beam. All i did was cut all lumber to instructions specs, drill beam holes and then assemble. Im 6'6" so i was able to lift the beam into place by myself. Shorter people may want to get another hand to help. Overall couldnt be happier! Smile on the kids face was worth it!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by pars1444 The swings is well built
This is a good kit is you are looking for a basic swing set. Has everything you need except the slide that you will have to but separate. Was disappointed to find out home depot dint sell the red wood lumber to build the frame. So ended up using pressure treated which works as well
