I see where this set is stained wood. Some sets are cedar. Can this be ordered in the cedar?

Answer:
All the lumber and hardware needed for the build is included. I didn't have to go to Home Depot once for additional parts or lumber. Any literature that says additional lumber is required is out of date. There were even a few extra pieces of lumber included in my set, with more than enough screws, bolts, nuts, and washers.

Answer:
Thanks for asking about our Grandview Twist Wood Complete Play set. This unit comes with all the wood. You do not have to add any other wood to it. In 2014 we made it where you did have to add additional wood. Looks like some old verbiage is still out there. Starting in 2015 it does come with all the wood.

He is used to building these playsets and it took him three days. He had to go to the store several times for screws that were either missing or improper for the purpose. He said that the playset was of excellent quality, just difficult to decipher instructions, missing screws, and a lot of pieces. The tubular slide alone was about 20 pieces to put together.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Made for some Happy Kiddos This playset made for some very happy kiddos, and they enjoyed helping us build it. We took our time over a week and a half, a little after work on weekdays, and a lot on 2 Saturdays. My wife and 3 little boys helped me, and we were proud of our handiwork! We were all super excited once it was finished, and the kids now play on it constantly, weather permitting. I give this an overall rating of 4 stars because while it is super fun for the kids, there are a few minor things that could be better. First, most of the screws were square-head screws, which normally would be easy to work with, but it seems these were slightly smaller than a size 2 bit, but too big for a size 1 bit to work. I had to grind down each bit I used, including the one that came with the hardware in the set to get them to work, but they still wore out real fast, and I went through probably 7 square head bits. We still got all the screws in, and it seems pretty sturdy. I think I would have preferred Phillips head screws, though. Also, one of the short bolts for the rock climbing wall was missing from the hardware, but we were able to improvise with one of the next size up, as the set included bolts for possible thicker boards. The bolt just stuck out a little bit on the back, but not too bad. Second, the tube slide was somehow omitted from the original shipment, so we called Home Depot, and they sent us one right out. It took about a week from when we called, but that worked out just right, since we didn't get to that part in the build till then anyway. The tube slide was somewhat difficult to assemble, especially the exit piece. Matching the holes up in the plastic was tough, and we ended up having to re-drill a few. Third, there were a few pieces of lumber that cracked easily, so after that, we were careful to pre-drill holes if none were present if we thought the board might crack. There were actually a few extra pieces of lumber included, as well as an extra plastic window piece, presumably just in case this happened. The 2 boards that split all the way thru were the small horizontal boards that go on the top and bottom of the window, and those were some of the extra boards included, so it worked out fine. Also, I may have put the screws through the wrong side the first time, as the instructions on that part were slightly confusing. Finally, the main entrance to the upper levels is via the climbing wall, but our 2-year old can't quite make it up that yet, so we had to stick a Little-Tykes slide under the lower landing for him to climb up. We may end up getting some more lumber to build some stairs, but it's working out for now. Overall, the kids are very happy with it, so that makes us happy. The swings are high quality, and the kids love them. They also love the tube slide, and go up and down it several hundred times a day. They like the sidewinder slide, and our oldest (8) loves the monkey bars. We plan on putting a sandbox in the space underneath, and we look forward to many fun years of play with this in our backyard. We posted pictures on Facebook, and many of our friends were impressed and asked about it, and said they want one just like it. It's a good looking addition to our backyard, and the kids are already planning play-dates with friends on it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Missing hardware This playset looks great now that it is complete. There were multiple bolts and screws missing to complete it. I would not purchase this playset again. Customer service was not very receptive about my concerns of the missing hardware.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Grandview Playset Shipping was fast but was freight and we had to meet the driver due to our road not supporting tractor/trailer travel. Book is somewhat complicated at first but once you get moving, it isn't much of an issue. It did take more than one day to finish. Some wood did have some minor cracking when putting screws in but the structure is still overall sound. We've only had ours up a week so I cannot speak on durability but it is asthetically pleasing. My 2 children ages 8 & 5 love it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor wood quality The wood is not of good quality. It has been splitting as my husband has been putting it together. And he's been predrilling and following the directions exactly. He is going to either have to reinforce the entire thing with better wood or start over using better quality wood.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for ages advertised This product is not for 3-10 year olds as advertised...great for your 3-6 year olds but don't plan on it lasting until 10. good quality...long build time...just plain to small for what the pictures made me think and it is too late once you get it home and start building.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from ok wood sucks This was ok the kid l9ve it when we got it up...but wood sucks splits to easy not all screws and bolts were in it... slides were bent which made it hard to put togeather. We had to make several trips to home depot to buy parts.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than a TWO person job. We love our new playset. The instructions were clear except online it said you needed 4 2x4s for the turbo slide but the kit had those pieces too.We got it for our three year old so we used the those extra boards and added a ladder. The must challenging aspect was the turbo slide! The holes didn't line up so we had to use 4 men an force the sections to line up. It took about 20 hours total to assemble. That did not count organizing and sorting all the material. I highly recommend putting all matching hardware in separate zip lock bags with labels. It will make the process go smoother. Good luck and enjoy this awesome price effective set!
