Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Luke DO NOT BUY. DO NOT BE FOOLED
Bought this for my kids. I needed something compact with no swing. Asked my Dad to help me. He is a licensed general contractor of ~35years. In 5 hours we got to page 24 of 87.
NOTHING is predrilled or measured for you, and none of the boards are marked with any kind of code. This is a very very very technical kit so you either need to hire someone at HD to put it together for you... for a lot of $, or buckle in for a long project.
The directions are not great. And there are blind drills required to put screws through boards and bullseye a bracket opening.... Not something that is great for the weekend warrior.
So it is sitting in my backyard, 25% complete, while I wait the 7 days for them to send me a board that they didn't include.
I would take it back, but once you have it in your yard, spend the extra 100$ for the 4X4's and put some holes in it, they kind of have you up against the wall. Your only choice is to NOT BUY THIS.
Positives... the lady at customer service answered and was friendly.
BTW... I never write reviews or return food or merchandise, but I had to make a stand on this one.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Scrucefox Final product is great. Process is a pain!
My husband & I bought this for our daughters 4th birthday. Delivery was quick. That's where the easy ended.
When you open the boxes not one item is labeled! There are boards that are literally an 1/8 different. The instructions say 8 hours for two adults. My husband is a very handy guy and I do well following these type of instructions. We worked for a solid 20-25 hours building this. It is perfectly square & level. It turned out really well & I'm proud of it. Our daughter absolutely loves it.
If you are not handy you will probably need to hire someone to build. If you are not looking for a project this is not for you. Overall, the quality is very good & I would recommend.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Marcia Very Complex assembly. Took way longer than stated. NIce when we finally got it done.
The assembly instructions are way more difficult than the need to be. Wood sizes provided are not standard and are not marked with part numbers. Instead of using standard dimension lumber 1x4, 2x4, 1x6....they have 5/8 x 3 3/8, 3/4 x 3 3/8, 1 x 3 1/2, etc....AND even though the stated sizes are 5/8 and 3/4 naturally they don't really measure out that way.
Also the instructions are written like an engineering design manual. They precisely locate a support bracket on a piece of wood BEFORE they ask you to attach it to the structure....nobody builds that way. Parts have to be field fit and the instructions would be better if they were written that way.
Plus those star screws????? All different bit dimensions! Changing bits all the time. Why didn't they go with standard philips head??

This package includes only 2/3 of the required lumber and is a complete nightmare to assemble. The wood is not at all labelled and often needs to be cut to fit in the correct spot. I hired a professional contractor to build this and it took him a day and a half to finish it. If you're interested in a unique challenge and an enormously time consuming product, you should definitely purchase this.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by John Sturdy and Simple Assembly - Recommended!
I read previous reviews and was nervous about the assembly. I purchased the kit, the slide and the extra lumber required. The most difficult part was the first few steps that assembled the basic framework because I was installing on a slight grade in the back yard. I had to dig and adjust the frames so everything would sit flat and plumb. I'm by no means a carpenter and was able to put the entire treehouse together in 3 days, while working about 5-6 hours each day by myself. I had help moving some of the assembled pieces into place because they get pretty heavy.
The trick is to measure accurately so you grab the correct piece when going through the steps. All the pieces were in the kit and straight. None of the pieces are marked with a label, but the each step tells you the exact measurement (width, thickness, and length) of each piece to use. I struggled to find the correct drill bit and extension when I started and found it was actually included in the kit when I finished! That would have saved some time if I would have found it first.
Overall very sturdy and well constructed. There are optional assembly configurations you can do when doing the final steps. This is helpful and lets you arrange the ladder, climbing wall, or slide on the side and position desired. Don't be afraid of the assembly, I just needed a cordless drill, drill bits, tape measure, and a level to assemble. This is the first time I left a review for a product mainly because I found it to be so different from the other reviews.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Luke RESPONSE TO SWING AND SLIDE COMMENT
Oh Swing and Slide... if only it were that easy. We did organize the boards. It's the first thing my dad had us do as an experienced contractor with a specialty in FRAMING. But when you have boards of similar length differentiated by as much as 1/8 of an inch and zero labels, it is going to be chore. Even if the boards were labeled... the amount of time to measure everything and pre-drill still makes this project too cumbersome for the average purchaser. This past weekend... my second weekend on the job, I probably spent an hr to 1.5 hrs just changing drill bits because you have to get things set with one screw to make sure what you are currently working on doesn't mess up the task six steps ahead.
S&S Rather than argue on the HD website with a clearly dissatisfied customer, you should be spending time clearly labeling your boards, marking drill holes, and advertising your product correctly.
I will say this. If you are looking for a class in rudamentary carpentry, if you are looking for a... 'look what I accomplished' project... if you have an abundance of time on your hands and can handle the tediousness of predrilling hundreds of screw holes.... then this is the project for you.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by carly Great set, difficult assembly
Very sturdy play set. Perfect for my son. However, the instructions are not very clear and hard to follow. Thankfully my uncle is a carpenter and could visualize what needed to be done
