Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 119 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by OK but not extraordiary. My 3-year-old grandson loves it. Construction took some time but was not difficult. Does require two people at times. Many of the boards are light-weight so I am not sure how long they will hold up. As others reported, some boards may split during construction. October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good quality and great value for the money I'm happy with this playset overall. Researched everything that was available at the time, including USA made sets sold by local backyard stores. Quality of the wood and hardware is better than anything else in this price range, and the Knightsbridge (and sister model Willow's Peak) were the only well-reviewed models to offer the 5' deck height, 8' slide and rock wall. Assembly was straight forward, and it took 2-3 of us working about 10 hours total to complete. To summarize the best tips from the reviews I've read: -Take the time to open the boxes beforehand and organize all of the lumber and hardware so that it is easy to locate for each step. I arranged everything on the garage floor in numerical order, and this definitely sped up the project. -The t-nuts shipping with the current set are not locking or crimped like other reviewers mentioned, still you will want to hammer them in good before hand, and be careful to start the bolts by hand as a couple of times they started cross threading on me. -Take the time to open up all of the pilot holes in the lumber with an 11/64" drill bit. The boards will pull together nicer and have less of a chance of splitting if the screws aren't threading into the pilot hole. -If the illustration does not make sense in the English version of the assembly manual, check the Spanish version. For Step 11 for example the English manual was printed with pieces missing from the diagram. Two additional discoveries I made: -Two extra pieces of lumber are included with current kits by mistake. Swing n Slide customer service verified that one of the four PF 6025 will not be used, and the one PF 6007 will not be used as well. Many extra screws were included, and a few extra right angle brackets and t-nuts. -The tarp that shipped with my kit was a few inches short of being able to install as indicated. I evened it out on both sides and screwed it in on the outward facing side of the roof side support boards. Overall I would definitely recommend this set from initial impressions. The five year warranty is nice piece of mind, and hopefully I won't have to use it. Take your time with measurements and squaring with steps that require doing so, and the assembly goes very smoothly. Make sure to have a couple of good cordless drivers with long battery life and a few s2 squre and philips head bits to go along with them. May 10, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Love the outcome, however the process of getting the play set up was terrible To start off, I want to say that my daughter loves her play set and I like that it has the climbing wall and the glider swing. The open deck on the side of the clubhouse is a nice feature and I like the detail on the roof. However, the boards were labelled in a way that was hard to read and the directions could have been more clear. A couple of the boards did split. My husband and father are pretty handy, and they were even having some difficulty putting it together. I've heard play sets are generally hard to put together, but there are things that the manufacturers could have done to make it much easier. Can I give a 5 star for the play set and a 2 star for the directions and labeling? July 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Knights Bridge Most of the parts and instructions were of excellent quality and very clear, however, there are a few steps that are very vague and less detailed. Some of the diagrams need improvements to show more detail. Overall, the playset is great and I would highly recommend it for the average DIY handyman. July 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product Glad they include more than one bit for the drill to use with screws. A few pictures in the instruction book could be more defined. Which side to attach the boards to (with bolts) would be helpful. Especially for those of use who are not familiar with putting together something like this. Do not try to assemble by yourself. Should air out wood before you assemble. July 19, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Wish it was sturdier My kids like this set, and they play on it, and are very happy, but I do wish we'd gone with a higher quality unit. The wood is not strong, and split in all sorts of places while being assembled. I won't go up on the structure, because I'm pretty sure it will crack and crumble beneath me. But my boys are little, and they're fine with it. Just remember, you're drilling every single hole yourself. And this cheap wood cracks if you mess up, so then you're SOL if something goes wrong. If you're looking for something to last a while, I'd suggest ponying up for the next level if you can. It'll make you feel more secure. May 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fun purchase for my grandkids. Started out as a real job putting it together but was worth it in the end. July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pre-drill everything! Consider the horror stories I was hearing about assembling this type of playset, the process was pretty straightforward. All off the wood components are number (and you can read most of the numbers) and there is more than enough hardware to get the job done. Just make sure you pre-drill holes before you just start firing deck screws into the wood. I had several pieces of the wood split during assembly. Pre-drilling helped, but some of the splits occurred where the wood was pre-drilled from the factory. I'm debating ordering replacement pieces from the manufacturer, but I'm going to wait until it has been through a few weather cycles to see if anything else splits. May 10, 2016
