My kids have been wanting a swing set for a while so I decided to build them one. You can probably buy the wood and hardware and come out cheaper but I cannot confirm. I had been reading all the reviews about folks needing 3 or 4 people to build this so I was worried because I only have myself. With that said, I built this by myself. It would have helped to have a friend though. I didn’t have one of those at the time! The key is to brace the A-frames so they will stand on their own. (See picture) That’s the hardest part (and it’s not really that hard). I have a pneumatic nailer so it made it a little easier. It took me about 8 hours to complete. The box says one hour build….no! Maybe one hour if this was you job and you did it every day.
I went with the 4x4x12 to add monkey bars in the middle. Holds up quite well. Very strong and not wobbly at all. I used the 2 ½” screws that were included.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GinnyMom really good and sturdy but change out the screws
This set is just what I wanted: simple, sturdy and fun. I am really happy with it. That said: we had two problems. 1) the wood screws that came with the set had a star-shaped top, and the bits that came with it failed pretty quickly. We ended up going out to get a box of philips head wood screws. I wish we had done it first thing; it made things go much better. Problem 2) the instructions were primarily just pictures and we amateurs managed to install the top plates backwards, with the flange folding over the 4 x 4s, instead of facing out to anchor the top (12 foot) 4x4. We had to take them out to reverse them, which was a pain, due to the star-shaped screws and the failed bits. All's well that ends well, however, and our grandsons (2 and 4) love the play set.
I am glad I went for the 12 foot top piece, instead of the 10 foot. Just makes it all a little more spacious.

Great swing set. My son loves it. I definitely recommend a 12 x 4 x 4 for the cross beam over the 8 x 4 x 4 to create room for a 3rd swing. The wood that came with the set was, for the most part, fine but there were a couple of pieces that needed repair with some wood putty. There is no way someone is going to put his together in 1 hour. It took me and 3 buddies about 6 hours to do granted we had to run to Home Depot for a couple of extra supplies In the middle. Despite these minor issues, the set came together very well and leaves some room for your imagination to add.

My wife and I searched for a solid playset that wasn't outrageously expensive for a few weeks. I wanted to make sure the wood was going to last and was going to be strong enough to support our kids as they grew older.
I found this set at Home Depot and after purchasing the slide and wood, I spent about $415. I wish I would have read the reviews and used a 4x12 as opposed to the 4x10 it called for. Would have given us the option to add a bar or another swing.
The set took me about 5 hours to set up by myself. I would recommend having two drills, one for drilling and one for screws, it made things flow a little smoother.
The most frustrating part was the main beam. A couple of the holes didn't quite match up with the brackets. Make sure you measure very carefully and if the holes don't match, mark the hole from the bottom, take the problem brackets off and drill a new hole.
This unit is strong and I'm confident my kids are going to enjoy it for years to come.

Excellent swing set. Very stable set. I had a professional put it together since I'm not well. Said all parts were in the box. Very strong and safe swing

This is a great swing set! One suggestion, we added two more 2x4's on each side of the platform so our son couldn't fall through the side. That was my only worry. It's a very sturdy swing set which will last for a long time. My son loves it!

We did not want to spend $2000 on a swing set for our grandchildren at our home. This product is just what I was looking for. Very affordable! We have a very shady backyard so no need for fancy canopy. My husband and I put it together in about 6 hours. Instructions were written very well and very easy to follow. No missing parts, no missing screws! Lumber comes precut - we suggest you measure each precut piece of wood to be sure you have chosen the correct piece according to the instructions. We did purchase a 4x4x 12 beam for the swings to hang on so they would be pleasantly spaced apart- but if you do this you have to refigure the inches- spacing accordingly. Also note-- you have to purchase the slide separately. Over all we are very happy with this set and so are our two grandchildren-- ages 21 months and 2 1/2 years

We really love how the 4x4s make this a very sturdy swing set. That was the main selling point for me and my husband. A lot of our neighbors have the giant multi-level play set but I really just wanted something simple, sturdy, and nice looking for my 4 year old twins. This set is just that.
We did a 12ft board instead of 10ft and put a hanging trapeze bar in the center of the two swings. We kept the dimensions from each side the same for the swings and then centered the trapeze bar with the remaining center room. It is plenty of room to swing. It is so sturdy that both myself and my 6ft 190lb husband have both swung on it and we haven't even anchored it yet. We did spend a bit more and got the upgraded slide.
Make sure you clean out the holes well on the main beam after drilling. We put the full set together before drilling for the swings like previous reviewers stated and that worked well. We also sorted out all the parts into labeled baggies the night before to make it a smoother assemble. It took two men and a 3rd helper (for mostly holding purposes) about 5 hours to put it together. We used both 3.5inch deck screws where we could and the screws that came with it. It all went fairly smoothly.
