Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great log splitter, made in the USA! Plenty of power to split the biggest, knottiest log I could handle. I would highly recommend this as opposed to the husky with the electric start option. Even my girlfriend can handle it with the vertical position and electric start. Price is right for a 34 ton machine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from power train starts and runs perfect. OIL/BREATHER CAP IS PLASTIC.IN LESS THAN A WEEK A PIECE OF WOOD FALLS FROM BEAM AND BREAKS THE CAP. FILLER CAP SHOULD BE STEEL OR RELOCATED. IN THE NORMAL COURSE OF OPERATION,WOOD SLIVERS FALL FROM BEAM AND PACK IN AROUND PUMP/ BATTERY AREA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good solid product! This product does not come with a battery; even though it is an electric start model. It also does not come with hydraulic fluid; you will need 5 gallons. The assembly of this unit is a little tough. The splitting wedge beam has to be assembled to the base of the unit; you need help or a loader; whatever to pick it up easily and safely assemble. All that being said, it is a great splitter. We are splitting oak, large rounds; no problem. We have split about 3 cords since we got it with no sweat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HD NICE will recomend Heavy duty equipment. Advertised as electric start but need to purchase battery since not included. Assembly instructions need overhauling no specifications anywhere including hydraulic fluid capacity and type, engine oil capacity, battery size. No operation instructions at all.. Space for battery and battery holder makes a small lawnmower battery to work ok but needs improving. Cradle is included but no assembly instructions. FYI it takes over 5 gallons of hydraulic fluid(not included) It is well built and does what is supposed to do with ease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great logsplitter, I would have designed it this way myself! OK, now I am a Mechanical Engineer and I take my mechanical equipment very seriously and this is one very well designed log splitter and ruggedly built. The unit is very well balanced and I move it around by hand quite a bit: it's easier than hooking it up to a hitch. The mechanics are really simple and straight forward: one of my engineering professors would be happy, he always would return studies saying "simplify, simplify!" The engine is domestically produced and has plenty of power to run the splitter. Also there is a clutch device that disengages the engine so that it is easier to start in cold weather. The electric start makes it extremely easy to get going. The tires are large enough so I can tow it around town. I like the ability to change the position of the splitter since I have trees that are up to 4' in diameter and it is much easier to split them close to the ground. The valve locks in return until the ram retracts allowing you to load while the ram is returning. Very nice, the only things I would do differently is that I wish the engine had the option for a rope starter in case the battery dies which is somewhat common with small power equipment and the owners manual does not list the size of the battery needed. I used a battery I had from a vehicle and it is a bit too large. I know it's 12 VDC but it would have been nice to know what physical size it was designed to use. Oh and I might have designed a regenerative return but that is a whole 'nother story and would have increased the cost which by the way was 1/3 less than a unit having 1 ton capacity more. A great value and in the picture my 5'2" wife has no problem using it!
