Most LED Bulbs carry a strong warning about using the bulb in a fully enclosed fixture due to the LED heat sink design.

Are these bulbs approved for recessed or enclosed spaces? I would like to install them in a ceiling fan dome light that is fully enclosed.

Answer:
Each bulb expends 4 watts, yet provides 200 lumens of light, and is therefore equivalent to a 25 watt incandescent bulb. There is no warning on the box about using them in enclosed fixtures. They can be touched when "on" and you will not get burned. They do get warm, but not hot.

25W Equivalent Soft White B10 Blunt Tip Candelabra Deco Dimmable LED Light Bulb (6-Pack) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 53.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent special-purpose bulbs While there are more and more A19-type LEDs to choose from, it's hard to find a lot of candelabra LEDs. These are some of the only ones available, and they are also one of the very few that are dimmable. I tried these in three different fixture types, and overall, I am very pleased. First I tried them in a fixture in which they are oriented horizontally - they produce an excellent amount of light in that orientation.. I also installed a few in a chandelier in which the bulbs screw in vertically and point up. Unfortunately, in this orientation, they are not ideal, as no light is emitted from the bottom of the bulbs, and therefore they do a better job lighting the ceiling than the floor. A third set of fixtures oriented them similarly (point facing up), but these fixtures were designed as accent lights, in which they are meant to bounce off the ceiling. The bulbs are perfect for this purpose. This last set of fixtures is also on an old-style rotary dimmer, and they actually work fairly well. I have not noticed any buzzing, which is common with LEDs on a dimmer, but of course when you use LEDs on a non-LED dimmer, they will flicker as you attempt to adjust the brightness. Once set, they seem to hold their brightness level. Also, while not surprising given their rating of 2700K and 25W-equivalent, these produce a very warm, soothing light, but do not have a high output. I have also purchased the 40W-equivalent version of these bulbs, and they work identically but have a significantly higher output (and are in fact more efficient in terms of lumens/Watt). I'd recommend those if you need maximum light output from a candelabra bulb. The price is quite similar as well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not so good Out of the 6 bulbs, one burned out already after 3 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Big WOW I recently converted my home to all LED Soft White and the first month savings were amazing. I put off ordering 12 bulbs for my Formal Dining room chandelier until I lived with the other LED's. I ordered these bulbs and installed them. My dimmer no longer draws heat and the light fromo the 25W totally exceeds the light output from the 40W incancecent bulbs that were in the chandelier. Also, they put off NO heat so the socket and the white candle bases will never discolor. BUY THESE!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted The LED bulbs were no more glaring than the regular bulbs except the light is a little whiter. They worked out perfectly for the hallway chandelier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inexpensive Candelabra Base 25 Watt Bulbs Bought three boxes of six bulbs five months ago. All eighteen bulbs arrived in good shape with none broken. Put three in a ceiling fan light fixture and remaining 15 in two chandeliers. All are still working just fine. I replaced 40 watt incandescent bulbs, so these 25 watt equivalent bulbs provide less light. But using only four watts for each bulb is producing significant electric savings. Only down side is I just went into the Home Depot web site to order more and they are out of stock. Perfect, the word is out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best candelabra LED bulbs I've seen. I happened to catch them on sale online so they were a great value for the money spent. I carefully reviewed numerous LED bulbs for color temperature and lumens, etc. I installed them on my front porch and above the garage doors. They perfectly matched the color temperature (2700 degrees Kelvin) of my existing outdoor landscape lights so now, the outside of my home is lit perfectly. It's absolutely gorgeous at night. Several neighbors have already commented favorably. The best part is I'm now using only about 10% of the wattage I had been using with traditional incandescent bulbs and they're actually brighter than what the mfg claims they replace (i.e. I've found that a 25w replacement LED is usually brighter than a traditional 40 watt bulb, etc.). I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good bulbs but buyer beware of shipped broken ones Bulbs are fine. Provides less light in my chandelier than the incandescent ones (LED bulbs have that large white base and the downlight is reduced) but the energy and heat saved is worth it. However, I ordered 4 boxes and there was a broken bulb in each one! Now I have to head into the brick and mortar store to find out how HD will make it right (hopefully)...
