The TCP 7 Watt (35 Watt Equivalent) Bright White LED MR16 Flood Light Bulb (3-Pack) is ideal for use in under-cabinet lights, track lighting or any fixture with a GU10 base. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor applications and stays cool to the touch so it won’t overheat confined spaces or intensify surrounding temperatures. is this a safe replacement for a 50w halogen bulb?

Asked by: MEJAY
Hello, yes this is still a safe replacement for a 50w Halogen bulb but was designed to replace a 50W bulb so you may not be happy with the light output.

Customer Reviews

35W Equivalent Bright White GU10 Dimmable LED Spot Light Bulb (3-Pack) is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Shape of bulb is larger than most MR16 GU10 Bulbs I bought these lights to replace MR16 GU10 halogen bulbs that came with a Hampton Bay track light fixture from Home Depot. After struggling for a while to figure out why the bulbs would not mate with the light fixture, I looked and the profile of the actual bulb is different than most bulbs this style. If you look at the picture, this bulb starts to widen only a short distance from the GU10 pins, whereas most other bulbs in this size have a longer skinny section, before widening to the end of the reflector. This bulb does not mate with The Hampton Bay Vortex Lighting kit, and may not mate with other light fixtures as well, if they have similar tight openings. I would think there should be some sort of standard to follow for bulb manufacturers, but it seems the physical shape can vary, as long as the overall dimensions are held.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work good, exceed specs These LED bulbs are spec'ed as 35W equivalent. They are brighter than 50W halogens and take only 7W each. Using a Lutron LED dimmer all six on my track lighting dim perfectly, down to a very low brightness. Dimming is smooth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best replacement for halogen I replaced the GU10 halogens over our cooktop that were raking in 200W and these GU10 LED bulbs were the perfect replacement. They are actually brighter than the halogens to be honest. So far they are working fine but time will tell as to how long these will last. For the price, I cannot complain. The quality is pretty good and up-to-par with other name brands. These were running 3/$29.97 which were a steal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great light output / good value shipment arrived complete and in perfect shape. The bulbs are well made with excellent light output and shading. The bulbs are mildly directional which works for my application very well. Just make sure that you have an LED - compatible dimmer control if a dimmer is to be used. All in all, the 9 bulbs that I purchased fulfilled my needs at a fair price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wanted to like them. Listen to the reviews! I really wanted to like these. Out of 12, two bulbs did not work right out of the box. One stopped working within 2 days. Almost all of them flicker at some point and are in 3 different fixtures, with only one fixture on a dimmer. They do seem to dim reasonably well but the quality control is poor and these are likely just cheap chinese parts. I figured these were worth a try but they are not going to fly. The GU10 bulbs for some reason are not as abundant as many of the other LED bulbs and have a ways to go before I can replace all of my track lighting with them. The bigger name brands like Phillips are still way too expensive to be viable option of replacing the 20+ GU10 bulbs in my home.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Quality!!!! I received 2 packages of three bulbs each. One of the bulbs did not work as soon as I plugged it in. A second bulb blew out after about 5 minutes. I think that an LED bulb should fire up and run for a long time. I guess the price was "to good to be true!"

Rated 4 out of 5 by from all bulbs work well. came fast, all work well, one has small flicker every so often. very bright, dont heat the kitchen like the halogens did. expensive as far as light bulbs go, but you have to spend money to save money I guess............

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Only one of three bulbs actually worked One bulb wouldn't light at all, and a second was constantly flickering and only worked intermittently. Maybe it was just a bad batch, but I won't be trying this one again.
