Rated 5 out of 5Â by Poppy A great opportunity to save on your power bill!
At only 6 watts per bulb vs. 65 watts per bulb in a 3 bulb post lamp that operates from dusk until dawn, the savings is huge. Then factor in the bulb life and the convenience of not having to change bulbs so often, It is very easy to justify paying about 5 times as much for these little jewels. In operation, they look like a regular incandescent bulb...instant on, bright clear light. I'm sold!

Rated 3 out of 5Â by sdgiant 2 worked great
Hard to give these too high a mark when one of three failed almost immediately. Pretty poor sample size for saying they aren't good though. The two that worked are just fine. Good size for fitting into a ceiling fan with tight space.

A chandelier with 8 candelabra bulbs above a small dining table is the center of our home life. With the conventional incandescent 40W bulbs, this ceiling light uses 320 Watt. For reduction of our electricity usage, these bulbs were a good target. The LED candelabra bulb with 5 W dissipation reduces the total power of the lamp to that of a single old type bulb. I bought a LED bulb at ebay first, but this was a disaster. When unscrewing the bulb, the socket separated from the glass section. The bulb did not even light up because the contact at the bulb base did not reach the contact of the lamp socket. I could see the complicated electronics in the base that are needed to reduce the 120V AC to a low DC voltage of about 1 Volt. This conversion process dissipates most of the power causing the base to be hot when the bulb is turned on.
When I looked at candelabra bulbs offered by Home Depot, I found the solid looking TCP 40W candelabra deco replacement in a package of 3. I was courageous and bought 3 packages to have enough bulbs for the chandelier. When we turned the "green" lamp on for the first time, light color and brightness were very similar to what we were used to. The individual bulbs appear to be of much higher quality than the initial ebay sample: A great choice and now a daily joy that is supposed to last for 22 years!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by beckboy Great price, great product
Purchased and installed these in my dining room candelabra, and my wife (most important) loves them. Since they primarily distribute light in the upper part, the reflective light is much less overpowering. Color is great, time will tell on how long they last. These are on a dimmer, and have little problem with that fact.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Jourhad Nice light with poor reliability
Very expensive as are all LED lights - the good news is that they fit inside the narrow gloves on the chandelier. After a 22-foot climb to replace the incandescent bulbs in the chandelier and hauling the ladder in and out of the house the first bulb failed after 2 days of normal use! Extremely disappointing. Now we have had to replace the burnt out LED with an incandescent, e-mail customer service witha warranty request, and now we wait. According to the warranty we must mail the bulb back to the manufacturer and wait for a new bulb to arrive in the mail. Then we get to haul the ladder back in and climb up to replace the old reliable incandescent with another one of these. A real bummer as I was hoping they would last for years as advertised. We got 10-12 months from the old incandescent bulbs at one-tenth the price.
